Chapman (toe) will start at third base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Chapman was unable to play in Tuesday's 5-1 win after he developed an infected ingrown toenail that was removed Monday. After testing out the toe in a pregame workout without incident, he'll be back at his usual spot in the field at the hot corner. Santiago Espinal will return to the bench with Chapman back in action.

Bregman is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Bregman will take some physical and mental rest after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the Astros' loss to the Jays on Tuesday. Grae Kessinger is playing third base and batting ninth Wednesday.

Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Senzel (knee) could return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Senzel was placed on the injured list Tuesday due to irritation in his right knee, but it's nothing overly concerning and it sounds like he'll be back in the fold for the Reds late next week. He'd been on a streak of solid production before the injury, though Elly De La Cruz is now up with Cincinnati to command regular starts at third base. Senzel will likely have to find his playing time in a crowded outfield mix.

Lewis (forehead) will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Rays.

After exiting late in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Guardians when he suffered a laceration to his forehead along with a sore shoulder following his involvement in an on-field collision, Lewis sat out Tuesday's 7-0 loss in the series opener. Fortunately for the Twins, the 24-year-old looks like he'll be good to go moving forward after getting two full days off to recover from the injury. He should handle a near-everyday role at third base after posting a .680 OPS through his first six games since being activated from the 60-day injured list in late May.

Sosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Even with Alec Bohm (hamstring) recently landing on the injured list, Sosa hasn't been able to recapture an everyday role at the corner spot opposite Kody Clemens. Drew Ellis has instead emerged as the Phillies' preferred third baseman, but both he and Sosa will take a seat Wednesday while Josh Harrison mans the hot corner.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.

Arenado opened up the scoring in the first with a two-run blast to left-center field to give the Cardinals an early lead. The 32-year-old now has four extra-base hits and six RBI over his last six games and owns an impressive 2:1 BB:K over that span. For the year, the seven-time All-Star is slashing .263/.312/.448 with 11 homers, 41 RBI, 28 runs and a 17:48 BB:K over 253 plate appearances.

De La Cruz is batting cleanup and hitting fourth versus the Dodgers on Wednesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks in his MLB debut against the Dodgers on Tuesday while playing third base, and he'll handle shortstop duties versus Noah Syndergaard and Los Angeles on Wednesday. Kevin Newman is playing third base and hitting eighth with Matt McLain lined up as the designated hitter while batting second.

Rivera will start at third base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Rivera will stick in the lineup for the fifth game in a row after going 5-for-14 with a double, two walks, two runs and an RBI across the prior four contests. Though Rivera should be a mainstay in the lineup against southpaws, he's seen an uptick in opportunities versus right-handed pitching lately thanks to Christian Walker missing a start due to an illness and Lourdes Gurriel having now sat out three games in a row with groin tightness.

Gelof owns a .280 average and .871 OPS across 181 plate appearances over 41 games with Triple-A Las Vegas.

The promising prospect is still working on whittling his strikeout rate down to an acceptable level -- it currently sits at 27.1 percent -- but he boasts a host of other encouraging metrics including a 15.5 percent walk rate, 18 extra-base hits, 20 RBI and 12 steals in 15 attempts. This season marks Gelof's second tour of duty with the Aviators after a nine-game Triple-A debut in 2022, and given the non-contending state of the big-league club, a 2023 majors debut for the 23-year-old seems all but a certainty.

Bride will start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Bride will be making his third consecutive start after going 3-for-7 with a double, an RBI and a run between the first two games of the series in Pittsburgh. Since his promotion from Triple-A Las Vegas on May 29, Bride has turned in a modest .679 OPS over 22 plate appearances, but that may be enough for him to at least temporarily settle into a near-everyday role in the Oakland infield.
