  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Not in lineup for first game

Donaldson is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

The Yankees will go with DJ LeMahieu at the hot corner for the afternoon contest. Donaldson -- who has homered three times in three games since returning from the injured list -- will likely be back out there for the nightcap.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Slugs ninth homer

Paredes went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Twins.

His second-inning shot off Pablo Lopez looked like it might be the game's only offense until the final frame, but Paredes' biggest contribution to the outcome might have come on the defensive end. With Minnesota having tied the score in the top of the ninth and threatening to add more with the bases loaded and one out, the third baseman snared a scorching grounder down the line and started a slick inning-ending double play. He remains on pace for a career-best season at the plate, slashing .264/.350/.467 through 55 games with nine homers and 38 RBI, and Brandon Lowe's back injury has pushed Taylor Walls into a near-everyday role at second base -- leaving the hot corner in Paredes' capable hands.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Two more hits Wednesday

Peterson went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 9-5 victory over Pittsburgh.

Peterson is now 7-for-9 with seven RBI over his last two games -- he'd gone 9-for-57 (.158) with two RBI in his previous 20 contests. Despite his recent offensive explosion, Peterson is still slashing a mediocre .225/.320/.343 with five homers, 20 RBI, 19 runs scored and six stolen bases through 194 plate appearances. The veteran infielder should continue to see regular at-bats on a rebuilding Oakland team.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Swats pair of doubles

Longoria went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Washington.

Longoria notched a pair of run-scoring doubles. He finished off the scoring in the Diamondbacks' three-run first inning then extended the lead to 4-2 in the seventh. The part-time role appears to suit the 37-year-old, who is normally in the starting nine against left-handers. Fourteen of his 23 hits are extra-base knocks, leading to a .295 ISO.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Hits first big-league homer

De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a triple, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in an 8-6 victory versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.

In his sixth big-league plate appearance, De La Cruz hammered a 458-foot two-run shot to right field in the first inning off veteran hurler Noah Syndergaard. The exit velocity on the homer was 114.8 mph, making it the hardest hit ball of the season so far for the Reds. De La Cruz is looking like an immediate difference-maker in fantasy leagues -- since his call-up, he's gone 3-for-7 with three-extra base hits and two walks as Cincinnati's cleanup hitter.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Exits Wednesday for load management

Rendon was pulled from Wednesday's game for load management reasons, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Angels manager Phil Nevin implemented a load management plan for Rendon earlier this season, and Wednesday's exit was simply another instance of said plan in action. Rendon also made an early exit during Tuesday's contest and is now 0-for-6 since returning from his groin injury.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: On bench Wednesday

Wisdom is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Angels.

Miles Mastrobuoni will start at third base and bat ninth versus the Halos and right-hander Jaime Barria. Wisdom is slashing just .145/.245/.313 in 95 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Giants' J.D. Davis: Not in lineup Wednesday

Davis is not in the lineup Wednesday night at Colorado.

Casey Schmitt will cover third base and bat eighth versus the Rockies and right-hander Connor Seabold. This appears to be a planned day off for Davis, who's delivered an impressive .286/.371/.481 slash line with nine home runs and 34 RBI through 56 games this year with San Francisco.

  • Jonah Bride 3B | TEX

Athletics' Jonah Bride: Two more hits Wednesday

Bride went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's win over Pittsburgh.

Bride's logged multiple hits in back-to-back games, boosting his slash line to .304/.407/.348 through his first 27 plate appearances this season. The 27-year-old Bride struggled to a .548 OPS in his rookie campaign, though he posted a .993 mark with eight home runs in 43 games this year with Triple-A Las Vegas. Bride should continue to see regular starts at third base on a rebuilding Oakland team and could be worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Three hits, triple in loss

Hayes went 3-for-5 with a triple and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Athletics.

Hayes now leads the league with five triples on the season. He's been on fire at the plate following a sluggish start to the year -- he's hit safely in seven straight games, going 14-for-28 (.500) with a double, two triples and two home runs in that span. Hayes' hot streak has boosted his slash line to .250/.295/.404. He has four homers, 24 RBI, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases across 244 plate appearances this season.
