  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Absence continues Tuesday

Devers (knee) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Cleveland, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

The expectation was that Devers would return to action Tuesday versus the Guardians coming off Monday's team off day, but he'll instead be out of the lineup for the fifth straight game due to the bone bruise on his left knee. It's unclear if the 27-year-old suffered some sort of setback, but he should continue to be considered day-to-day for now. Pablo Reyes is starting at the hot corner and batting ninth.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Tigers' Gio Urshela: Straight-line running Tuesday

Urshela (hamstring) did some straight-line running drills Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

It's a good sign that he's already doing some running just a few days after landing on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. Urshela will eventually progress to running the bases and could need a short rehab assignment before rejoining the Tigers.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Goes through full workout

Ibanez (hamstring) went through a full workout at second base Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

McCosky added that Ibanez didn't appear to be favoring his left hamstring at all. The veteran utility player would appear to be close to beginning a rehab assignment, with a return before the end of the month possible. Once he rejoins the Tigers, most of Ibanez's playing time figures to come against lefties.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Records third steal

Chapman went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 5-2 win over the Mets.

Chapman is up to three steals this year, two of which have come over the last three contests. The third baseman has gone 8-for-24 (.333) with four RBI and six extra-base hits over his last seven contests. He's slashing .226/.280/.430 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and seven doubles through 100 plate appearances, but his recent performances suggest he's trending in the right direction.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Rehab assignment will be brief

LeMahieu (foot) has said he expects to play "less than five" rehab games before being activated, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

LeMahieu is beginning a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday. Assuming the Yankees concur with the infielder's assessment of how many rehab games he will require, it sounds like he could be back as soon as the weekend series in Milwaukee. LeMahieu has been out all season with a bone bruise and non-displaced fracture in his right foot. Oswaldo Cabrera's production has slowed since a hot start, so LeMahieu should quickly regain his role as the primary third baseman.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Homers in loss

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Garcia is starting to come around at the plate, going 4-for-17 (.235) over his last four contests following a five-game slump. The third baseman has already matched his homer total from last season (four), which took him 123 games to accumulate in 2023. He's added four steals, 15 RBI, 10 runs scored and a .178/.224/.367 slash line over 98 plate appearances so far, but he remains intriguing in fantasy for his speed.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Struggling of late

McMahon went 0-for-3 with an RBI on Monday against the Padres.

McMahon recorded four hits April 12, but he has only five hits across 38 plate appearances since. He's also struck out at 39.5 percent clip in that span while tallying two RBI and two runs scored. Even with that stretch, McMahon has a .314 average across 100 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Coby Mayo 3B | BAL

Orioles' Coby Mayo: Excelling at Triple-A

Mayo is slashing .344/.388/.656 with seven home runs, 19 RBI, three stolen bases and 18 runs scored over 21 games this season at Triple-A Norfolk.

Mayo has been one of a few talented Baltimore prospects to dominate so far this season for the Tides, and with Heston Kjerstad expected to get the call to the big leagues Tuesday, Mayo's opportunity may not be far away. Jackson Holliday is now 1-for-30 in the first nine big-league games of his career, so it wouldn't be a shock to see Mayo get a chance if Holliday isn't able to turn things around soon.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Three hits in loss

Suarez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Suarez, who logged his first three-hit performance of the season, entered the game on a 3-for-26 (.115) stretch over the last eight games. The two RBI upped his season total to 16, second on the Diamondbacks behind Lourdes Gurriel (21).

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

    Athletics' Zack Gelof: Blasts game-winner

Gelof went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Monday's 2-0 win over the Yankees.

Gelof entered the ninth hitless in three at-bats but broke the scoreless tie by lifting a 2-2 pitch over the right-center field wall for an opposite-field, two-run blast, his third long ball of the season. Gelof, who entered the day hitting just .202, has now put together hits in consecutive games for the first time since April 7-11 by following up a two-hit day Sunday with Monday's game-winner.
