After a three-day break from the starting lineup due to a knee injury, Plouffe has started four consecutive games for the Twins since returning to action Tuesday in Oakland. Despite his struggles, Plouffe has hit fourth or fifth in every game he's played this season.

Longoria went 1-for-4 with a home run during Friday's win over Minnesota.

Longoria extended his hitting streak to seven games, and he's now gone yard thrice during his streak. The third baseman has hit safely in nine of the past 10 games, and with the blast he has 11 homers this year.

The Mets recalled Reynolds from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

Reynolds was called up to take the roster spot of David Wright, who landed on the disabled list with a neck injury. Reynolds split his time with Las Vegas between third base and shortstop, and he will open his latest stint with the big club as a backup at both positions.

Suarez can now look ahead to some home cooking with the Reds slated to begin a nine-game homestand Friday.
