Suarez will return to the Reds' lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals after sitting out Thursday's contest due to back spasms, John Fay of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Suarez was a late scratch Thursday, but the issue was evidently not a serious one, as he'll miss only one game. He'll hit cleanup and play third base Friday.

Machado went 2-for-3 with a solo home run Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Machado took Robbie Ray deep in the sixth inning to record his 33rd home run of the season. He now has five home runs in his past eight games after hitting only two through the first three weeks of August. While he's posted standout seasons in the past, Machado is pacing towards career-best marks in batting average, on-base percentage, home runs, and RBI.

Segura was removed from the starting nine prior to Thursday's game against the Athletics, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Segura fouled a ball off his shin during Wednesday's contest against San Diego and was forced to exit the game. Although X-rays came back negative, he's clearly still nursing the injury, so the Mariners will hold him out as a precaution. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Segura (shin) is starting at shortstop and hitting third Thursday against the A's, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Segura won't be forced to miss any additional action after exiting Wednesday's game with a bruised shin. The 28-year-old shortstop, who is slashing a solid .317/.348/.439 with nine homers and 20 stolen bases this season, will face right-hander Frankie Montas in Thursday's series opener.

Muncy is not in the lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Muncy will stick on the bench for a second straight game with the Diamondbacks sending out left-hander Robbie Ray. Enrique Hernandez will take over at first base Thursday, hitting fifth.

Donaldson (calf) plans to play in Game 1 of High-A Dunedin's doubleheader Thursday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Donaldson was expected to get Wednesday night off due to soreness in his calves and legs before the contest was rained out and rescheduled for Thursday. He's set to test his calf out in the first game of Thursday's twin bill, and how he fares could ultimately determine whether the Blue Jays deal him before the Aug. 31 waiver deadline.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with two runs and a walk in a loss to the Astros on Wednesday.

After a rare 0-for-5 performance Tuesday, Chapman's bat heated right back up in Wednesday's loss, as he churned out his fourth multi-hit effort of the last five games. The 25-year-old's excellent .374 on-base percentage in August has helped lead to him scoring 21 runs, and he's been responsible for another 17 through his own offensive exploits.

Suarez was scratched from Thursday's starting nine against the Brewers due to mid-back spams, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

The Reds have yet to provide any additional information regarding Suarez's injury, so he should be considered day-to-day ahead of Friday's game in St. Louis for the time being. In his place, Dilson Herrera was added to Thursday's lineup at second base while Brandon Dixon was shifted over to start at third.

Devers (hamstring) went 1-for-3 with a double and played five innings at third base for Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday.

Devers played his first rehab game since the Red Sox placed him on the disabled list Aug. 17 with a strained left hamstring. This is Devers' second DL stint due to a hamstring injury, so expect the Red Sox to make sure he's rehabbed fully. The 21-year-old third baseman could return to Boston's active roster this weekend.

Moustakas went 4-for-6 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's 13-12 extra-inning win over the Reds.

He's provided the Brewers with exactly the power boost they were looking for when they acquired him, and Moustakas is now slashing .284/.351/.500 in 28 games for Milwaukee with five homers and 19 RBI. The 29-year-old is now just five home runs shy of his second career 30-HR campaign, and four RBI from tying his previous best of 85.
