Longoria went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Mets.

Longoria went deep for the second time in three games and is currently riding a six-game hitting streak. The 32-year-old owns a disappointing .249/.286/.432 slash line in his first season with San Francisco and is in danger of turning in the lowest home run total of his career.

Asuaje was called up from Triple-A El Paso prior to Thursday's game against the Rockies.

Asuaje will take the place of Christian Villanueva, who was placed on the 10-day DL with a fractured finger in a corresponding move. Across 75 games with the Padres this year, Asuaje has slashed just .199/.290/.285 with two home runs, 19 RBI and one stolen base. Even with Villanueva on the shelf, don't expect Asuaje to see much playing time moving forward.

Escobar went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored Wednesday in the Diamondbacks' 5-1 win over the Angels.

Escobar isn't typically active as a baserunner, which made it all the more surprising when he successfully stole second base while Rene Rivera -- one of the best catchers in the MLB when it comes to controlling the run game -- was behind the dish for the Angels. It was Escobar's second steal of the season and first as a member of the Diamondbacks, with whom he's hitting .308/.367/.500 since coming over in a pre-deadline deal with Minnesota.

Devers (hamstring) is expected to need a rehab assignment, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.

Manager Alex Cora discussed Devers' status Wednesday, telling reporters that he's doing better. Because Devers is spending a second stint on the disabled list this month due to a hamstring injury and will have missed many plate appearances by the time he's ready to play again, Cora added that he'd like to see the third baseman get some at-bats in the minors before returning to Boston.

Duffy went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a walk, a stolen base and a strikeout in Wednesday's win over the Royals.

Duffy singled home an insurance run in the eighth inning in the 6-3 win and reached base three times on the night. The 27-year-old is hitting just .231 over 65 at-bats in August, but overall he's slashing .293/.350/.368 with nine steals in 14 attempts.

Segura exited Wednesday's game against the Astros after tweaking his rib cage, TJ Cotterill of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Segura started the game despite dealing with stiffness in his upper rib cage, but aggravated the issue during the game and was forced to leave. It's unclear how severe the issue is, but the Mariners have a day off Thursday, so Seguar will get at minimum one day to rest.

Hayes suffered a left shoulder contusion during Sunday's Double-A game and has yet to resume any game activities, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Hayes tripped out of the batter's box and hurt the shoulder, and added that the organization is taking it day-to-day at the moment. 107 games with Altoona this year, Hayes has slashed .281/.362/.439 with seven home runs, 38 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Maggi (hamstring) was reinstated from the 7-day disabled list Wednesday.

Maggi spent the past two weeks on the DL due to a right hamstring strain but will return to action at Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday after taking some time to recover. Across 54 games with the Triple-A team this year, he's hit .269 with one home run, 14 RBI and 11 stolen bases.

Suarez is not in the lineup against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Suarez appears to be receiving a standard day off, though the infielder hasn't missed a start all year when he's been at full health. In his place, Dilson Herrera will get the nod at third base while batting eighth in the order. As long as Suarez isn't dealing with some sort of undisclosed injury or ailment, expect him back in the lineup Thursday versus the Cubs.

Machado went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals.

Machado crushed his 29th homer in the seventh inning and reached twice on singles, but it wasn't enough in the 5-2 loss. The 26-year-old continues to hit well since coming over to Los Angeles, slashing .280/.366/.464 with five homers, 12 RBI and five steals since being acquired over the All-Star break.
