Vargas went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, a stolen base, and three RBI on Saturday against the Padres.

Vargas recorded his first career home run in the fourth inning, taking Jacob Nix deep. He later added his first career stolen base in the sixth inning, capping off a productive night. The 27-year-old got a taste of the majors for the second consecutive season, but the only standout skill he's shown throughout his minor-league career is the ability to get on base.

Muncy was 2-for-6 with a double, a triple and two RBI in Saturday's 10-6 win over the Giants.

Muncy came through with a clutch two-run double with the bases loaded in the ninth inning to help pad the lead to 9-5. The 28-year-old has a .260/.389/.568 slash line with 33 home runs in 389 at-bats with one game to go in the regular season.

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Saturday during the Reds' 3-0 win over the Pirates.

Suarez lifted an offering from Jameson Taillon over the center-field wall in the fourth inning. His 34th big fly was the latest highlight of his breakout season, during which he's slashing an impressive .284/.368/.528 with 104 RBI, 79 runs and 10.6 percent walk rate.

Duffy (quadriceps) is not expected to return for Sunday's season finale against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Duffy has been out of the lineup the last three days after leaving Wednesday's game with right quad soreness. The severity of the injury is not fully known, but it makes sense for the Rays to remain cautious with the team already eliminated from playoff contention. Assuming his season is over, Duffy finishes with a .294/.361/.366 slash line with four home runs and 12 stolen bases in 132 games.

Duffy (quadriceps) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Duffy hasn't seen the field since exiting Wednesday's game with right quad tightness. The severity of the issue remains unclear, and the Rays could just be playing it safe through Sunday's season finale since they're already eliminated from playoff contention. Andrew Velazquez will start at third base and bat ninth Saturday.

Bregman will not start the first game of Saturday's twinbill versus Baltimore but is set to bat third and start at shortstop for the nightcap, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Manager A.J. Hinch will give each of his regulars some rest during the doubleheader, so Bregman will take a seat for the matinee, with J.D. Davis starting at third base and batting seventh.

Segura was benched for not running hard enough from second base to home plate in the Mariners' win over the Rangers on Friday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Segura actually scored on the play in question, but manager Scott Servais was displeased with the apparently lackadaisical approach the shortstop took on the basepaths. Segura finished the game with a walk and a run in the victory, and Servais was noncommittal about whether he'd be in the lineup Saturday.

Newman is out of the lineup against the Reds on Saturday.

Newman went 1-for-4 with one RBI during Friday's series opener and will receive a breather for the matinee while Jordy Mercer picks up a start at third base.

Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, four RBI and two runs in Friday's 14-6 victory over the Royals.

Donaldson blew the game open with a grand slam in the seventh inning to stretch the Indians' lead to 10-0. He also added a double and a run earlier in the frame, as the Indians scored 10 of their 14 runs in the seventh. Donaldson now has a .249 batting average to go along with eight home runs and 23 RBI over 212 plate appearances in 2018.

Muncy is not in the lineup against San Francisco on Friday, Kerry Crowley of the Bay Area News Group reports.

As expected, Muncy will take a seat for the series opener with southpaw Madison Bumgarner on the mound for the Giants. In his place, David Freese will bat third and man first base.
