  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Hits fifth homer

Bregman went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and walk in an 11-0 victory against the Twins on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old extended his walk streak to 11 games with another base on balls Tuesday. He walked 21 times in April, which helped him post a .465 on-base percentage in the month. The homer was only Bregman's 10th extra-base hit, but with all the walks, he still has an .889 OPS. Bregman is batting .271 with five homers, 14 RBI, 14 runs and two steals in 96 at-bats.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Not starting Tuesday

Urshela (hand) isn't in Tuesday's starting lineup against Arizona.

Urshela will remain on the bench as he continues to nurse a left hand injury, though he'll be available off the bench, per Coley Harvey of ESPN.com. With DJ LeMahieu also out of the lineup, the Yankees will roll with Tyler Wade at third base and Thairo Estrada at second.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Out of Tuesday's lineup

LeMahieu (knee) isn't starting Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Kristie Ackert of the NY Daily News reports.

LeMahieu is being considered day-to-day due to right knee inflammation, but even after a day off, he isn't feeling healthy enough to start. Skipper Aaron Boone did note that LeMahieu will be available off the bench if needed, per Coley Harvey of ESPN.com. With LeMahieu and Gio Urshela (hand) out of the starting nine, the Yankees will turn to Tyler Wade at the hot corner and Thairo Estrada at the keystone.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Braves' Josh Donaldson: Scratched with right calf problem

Donaldson was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres with right calf tightness, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Donaldson's left calf was the one that kept him out of action for much of 2018, so this news isn't quite as worrisome as it may initially seem. The Braves are calling his removal precautionary and are considering him day-to-day. Johan Camargo is in line for a starting role until Donaldson returns.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Starting at short

Machado is starting at shortstop for Tuesday's tilt against the Braves.

With Fernando Tatis Jr. on the injured list with a hamstring injury, Machado gets the nod at shortstop for this contest. Machado could find himself manning the position frequently while the Padres' star rookie is out.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Heads to IL

Rendon (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Rendon's elbow hasn't improved as much as the Nationals would've hoped, so he'll require a trip to the injured list. The move is retroactive to Saturday, so Rendon will be eligible to come off the shelf beginning May 7. In a corresponding move, Dan Jennings' contract was selected from Double-A Harrisburg.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Drives in three off bench

Longoria went 1-for-2 with a three-run double in Monday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.

Much to the chagrin of fantasy managers who kept him active this week, Longoria was on the bench for the second day in a row, but he at least made the most of his seventh-inning pinch-hitting opportunity. With two outs and the bases juiced, Longoria laced a double to left field off Dylan Floro to plate the Giants' only runs of the night. Pablo Sandoval drew the start at third base but was lifted after experiencing knee inflammation, so Longoria should be on track to re-enter the lineup Tuesday.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Could debut Friday

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Reds are considering promoting Senzel for his major-league debut as soon as Friday.

The timing makes sense if the Reds want their top prospect to debut in front of a home crowd that night against the Giants, as the team's next home series won't start until May 14. An ankle issue delayed Senzel's start to the season with Triple-Louisville and cut into his chances to learn center field, but he's reportedly adjusted well to the position. He's hitting .296 with a homer through six games.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Rays' Matt Duffy: Getting ABs in extended spring

Duffy (hamstring/back) has progressed to getting at-bats in extended spring training games, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The news continues to be positive for the rehabbing infielder, who resumed most baseball activities in mid-April. While the fact he's seeing some semblance of game action is certainly a positive, Duffy still remains without an official timetable for return according to manager Kevin Cash.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Situated on bench Monday

Longoria isn't starting Monday's game against the Dodgers, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Longoria was given Sunday's series finale off, and he'll take a seat yet again Monday. Pablo Sandoval draws the start at the hot corner and will bat fifth with Longoria on the bench.
