Jeimer Candelario 3B | NYY
Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Plays catch Thursday
Candelario (back) played catch on the field at Great American Ball Park on Thursday, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Candelario has been shelved since late April with a lumbar spine strain and last week was given an epidural to help speed along the recovery process. He's finally ready to begin ramping things back up, but a timetable for the infielder's return has not yet been established.

Jose Tena SS | WAS
Nationals' Jose Tena: Bangs out two doubles in win
Tena went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the Mets.
The 24-year-old has been filling in at second base the last two games while Luis Garcia (paternity leave) has been away from the team, leaving third base to Amed Rosario. Tena should shift back to the strong side of a platoon at the hot corner once Garcia is back, but his hold on the job may be tenuous. Through 10 games in May, Tena is batting just .214 (6-for-28) with one steal, one run and three RBI, and he's still looking for his first homer of 2025.

Ramon Urias 2B | HOU
Orioles' Ramon Urias: Resting up Thursday
Urias is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.
After a week-and-a-half-long absence due to a hamstring strain, Urias made his return from the injured list Wednesday. He started at third base and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored during Baltimore's 6-3 loss in the first game of a doubleheader, then sat out a 8-6 loss in the second game. Emmanuel Rivera will receive a second straight start at the hot corner Thursday as the Orioles wrap up their series with the Twins, but Urias could see the bulk of the starts at the position once he's further removed from the hamstring injury.

Amed Rosario 3B | NYY
Nationals' Amed Rosario: Getting third straight start
Rosario will start at second base and bat second in Thursday's game against Atlanta.
Rosario will draw a third consecutive start out of the Washington infield, but his run of regular playing time will likely come to an end during this weekend's series in Baltimore. Luis Garcia (personal) is expected to be activated from the paternity list Friday and should take back an everyday role at second base, leaving Rosario to fend with Jose Tena for playing time at third base.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Launches second homer
Muncy went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Athletics.
The third baseman was on his way to a hitless performance but instead broke the game open in the eighth inning with a three-run shot to right field. It's just the second home run of the year for Muncy, who is batting .191/.310/.305 through 40 games this year. He's never provided a high-average bat, but Muncy has yet to consistently find his power stroke in 2025 with a .114 ISO and 29.0 percent strikeout rate, both of which would be career worsts for a full season.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Gets back on track with homer
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Houston.
It was the 14th multi-hit effort of the season by Garcia, who tallied multiple extra-base hits Wednesday for just the second time this year. The utility man had gone just 1-for-20 in his previous five outings, so it was a strong bounce-back performance as well. Garcia is still trending up overall, as he's batting .323 with three homers, five doubles, nine RBI and seven stolen bases over his last 65 at-bats.

Alex Bregman 3B | BOS
Red Sox's Alex Bregman: Belts homer in back-to-back games
Bregman went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to Detroit.
Bregman -- who entered Wednesday's contest 1-for-11 with four strikeouts in his three prior games -- gave the Red Sox a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning, when he took Tarik Skubal deep to left-center field for a solo home run. Bregman has hit a home run in consecutive games and is up to 11 on the year, which is tied with Wilyer Abreu for most on the Red Sox and fourth-most in the American League. Bregman has a .981 OPS through 199 plate appearances this season, which is his highest since the 2019 season with the Astros (1.015).

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Lifts second homer
Bohm went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in a 14-7 loss to the Cardinals in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.
Bohm brought the Phillies back within two runs in the fourth inning, but that was as close as they'd get before the Cardinals rallied late. Power has been a problem for Bohm this season -- he doubled his total of extra-base hits in May with a homer and a double in this contest. However, he's been more consistent at the plate lately, going 15-for-42 (.357) over 12 contests this month. Overall, he's batting .258 with a .650 OPS, two homers, 13 RBI, 16 runs scored, six doubles, one triple and a stolen base over 40 games.

Luis Rengifo 3B | LAA
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Not starting Wednesday
Rengifo is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Padres on Wednesday, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Rengifo will take a seat Wednesday while Tim Anderson starts at second base and bats ninth. Rengifo has gone 3-for-26 (.115) with one stolen base, three runs scored and three RBI since the beginning of May.

Gage Workman 3B | DET
Tigers' Gage Workman: Returns to Tigers
Workman cleared waivers Wednesday and was returned to the Tigers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Since being selected by the Cubs in the Rule 5 Draft this offseason, Workman has slashed .188/.235/.250 in the majors and has been cast off the active rosters of both Chicago clubs. He'll now return to his original organization without a spot on the 40-man roster and will presumably report to Triple-A Toledo to serve as organizational depth.
