Madrigal hopes to be back on the field in two weeks after landing on the injured list with a separated left shoulder Wednesday, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

The White Sox originally stated that they hoped Madrigal would be back by the end of the month, but Madrigal's own timeline appears to be a bit more aggressive. Whether that's simply a case of the very common phenomenon of a player being optimistic about his own health or a meaningful change to his prognosis remains to be seen. Danny Mendick has started the last two games at second base in his absence.

Henderson was added to the Orioles' 60-man player pool Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 19-year-old was selected 42nd overall by Baltimore in the 2019 draft, and he'll be able to continue his development at the alternate training site. Henderson appeared in 29 games at rookie ball last year and had a .259/.331/.370 slash line with one homer and two stolen bases.

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI in Thursday's win over the Orioles.

Anderson plated two runs with a single in the bottom of the third inning, and he later drove in another run with a triple in the seventh. Anderson has been one of Miami's biggest offensive threats to start the season, and he has reached base in all eight games he's played so far.

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a triple, two home runs, four runs scored and four RBI in Thursday's 13-0 win over the Reds.

Ramirez got the scoring started for Cleveland, smashing a 98-mph fastball from Luis Castillo into the right-field seats. He went on to homer from the other side of the plate against a lefty (Cody Reed). This game bumped his line from .277/.382/.447 to .308/.400/.615 -- Ramirez has only attempted one steal through 14 games, but nobody's complaining.

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double during Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Bregman launched a two-out, two-run blast to help the Astros regain the lead in the eighth inning. Ultimately, Houston came up short in the end. The 26-year-old, who has now hit safely in six consecutive games, is batting .235 on the season with three home runs and nine RBI.

Riley isn't in the lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Riley has largely struggled to begin the year as he's slashing just .129/.222/.355 with two home runs, six RBI and 13 strikeouts. He'll get a routine day off Thursday with Johan Camargo starting at third base and batting seventh.

Vargas was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Vargas is 3-for-20 with five strikeouts through eight appearances this season, so it isn't overly surprising to see him cast off Arizona's roster with teams needing to trim from 30 to 28 active players. The 29-year-old hit .269/.299/.413 across 92 games last season and could draw interest on waivers as a utility option.

LeMahieu is not starting Thursday against the Phillies.

LeMahieu, who is 17-for-41 with two home runs this season, will get the day off following a string of 10 consecutive starts. Tyler Wade is covering the keystone and hitting ninth in his stead Thursday.

Segura is not starting Thursday against the Yankees, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Segura will sit for the first time all season as Neil Walker picks up a start at third base in his stead. Through six games this season, Segura is 4-for-22 with four runs scored.

Moustakas (quad) is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Indians.

Moustakas will remain sidelined for a second straight game as he continues to nurse a bruised left quad. Kyle Farmer is starting at second base in this one, while Moustakas should be considered day-to-day ahead of Friday's series opener against the Brewers.
