Kieboom was sent to Washington's alternate camp site Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Kieboom has struggled across 14 appearances this month, going just 6-for-41 with zero extra-base hits and 17 strikeouts. There's a chance the 22-year-old rejoins the big club down the stretch, but for now Asdrubal Cabrera (foot) should handle the majority of the playing time at third base.

LeMahieu (thumb) is progressing well and and should face live pitching at some point this weekend, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Manager Aaron Boone said the team is "really encouraged" by LeMahieu's progress facing high-velocity pitching from a pitching machine. If facing live pitching goes well, he could be activated early next week.

Pirates manager Derek Shelton suggested Tuesday that the team has no immediate plans to promote Hayes from the alternate site, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports. "There was no discussion of [Hayes' potential callup]," Shelton said.

After the Pirates lost a pair of infielders Kevin Newman (abdomen) and Colin Moran (concussion) to injuries in Sunday's win over the Brewers, speculation arose that Hayes could get the opportunity to make his big-league debut this week. However, Shelton's comments Tuesday along with the fact that the Pirates didn't even include Hayes on their taxi squad for their eight-game, three-city road trip suggests that the 23-year-old prospect's callup won't be imminent. Hayes will continue to play regularly in simulated games at the Pirates' alternate training site in Altoona.

Muncy went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and two walks in an extra-innings loss to the Giants on Tuesday.

Muncy kicked off the scoring in the contest with a 423-foot shot to right field to plate three runs in the first inning. The long ball was the second in as many games for Muncy, who appears to be working his way out of an extended slump. After hitting .129 (8-for-62) over the first 20 days of August, Muncy has gone 5-for-13 with a pair of homers, four walks and four RBI in his last four games.

Newman (abdominal) will remain out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Though Pirates skipper Derek Shelton said that both Newman and Colin Moran (concussion) would be available off the bench for Tuesday's series opener after the two exited Sunday's game against Milwaukee with injuries, neither entered the contest. Both players are still absent from the lineup a day later, but the Pirates' reluctance to put Newman and Moran on the injured list suggests both should continue to be viewed as day-to-day. Erik Gonzalez will fill in for Newman at shortstop Wednesday.

Machado went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and run scored in Tuesday's loss to Seattle.

After being named NL Player of the Week for the previous seven days Monday, Machado notched his first four-hit game of the campaign in a losing effort Tuesday. He swatted his first triple of the season in the performance and fell a homer shy of hitting for the cycle. Machado also extended his hitting streak to seven games, six of which have been multi-hit efforts. During that span, the veteran is hitting a blistering .536 (15-for-28) with three homers, nine RBI and nine runs scored.

Arenado went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over Arizona.

Arenado has been slightly inconsistent this season but produced when it mattered the most, and he carried the Rockies offensively with his fifth multi-hit performance of the campaign. The star third baseman took advantage of the day off Sunday and has mustered knocks in each of his past two games, but he's still hitting a meager. 224 in 85 at-bats this month.

Rivera started at second base and went 0-for-2 in Tuesday's 10-3 loss to the Athletics.

Rivera filled in for the injured Rougned Odor, who was scratched due to an eye infection. Rangers manager Chris Woodward opted for the right-handed-hitting Rivera against Oakland lefty Sean Manaea instead of Derek Dietrich, a lefty batter who later replaced Rivera when right-hander Lou Trivino entered the game. Rivera is hitless in five plate appearances since being promoted to the active roster.

Toro started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Toro, who sat out the first game in favor of Jack Mayfield, launched his third home run, which snapped an 0-for-15 run. Toro has been the primary replacement at third base as the Astros manage the hot corner while Alex Bregman remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Moncada has been playing though what manager Rick Renteria describes as leg soreness and fatigue, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Moncada recently sat out a game due to the leg issue and is 1-for-15 in his last four games. Renteria is asking the third baseman "to be very controlled when he's moving out there." This could be a residual effect of Moncada's late start to summer camp due to the coronavirus.
