Farmer will start at shortstop and bat eighth Tuesday against the Pirates.

Joey Votto's (thumb) recent move to the injured list has indirectly opened up an everyday role at shortstop for Farmer. With Mike Moustakas moving across the diamond to cover first base while Votto is out, Eugenio Suarez has shifted over to third base, allowing Farmer to step in at shortstop. Farmer will be making his fourth straight start at the position Tuesday, but he shouldn't attract much interest outside of NL-only formats. Farmer is hitting .210/.329/.290 on the season and will likely regularly fill a bottom-third spot in the batting order.

Bregman went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks and an RBI in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Angels.

Six of the Astros' 10 hits on the night were two-baggers, with Bregman kicking off the doubles parade in the first inning. The star third baseman is enjoying May so far, going 12-for-35 (.343) over his last nine games, and on the season Bregman is slashing .313/.374/.500 with five homers, 19 RBI and 20 runs through 29 contests.

Suarez homered on an 0-2 count in the second inning Monday to start the Reds' scoring in their 14-1 win over the Pirates. It was his first hit on an 0-2 count this season, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Suarez went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in the game and is hitting .134/.224/.319 still, so it's hardly as if he's broken out yet. Nonetheless, this was a promising at-bat during an all-around good day for the Reds.

Senzel went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Monday against the Pirates.

Senzel had plenty to contribute at the dish in the series opener, driving home a pair in the fourth inning on a single to right followed by an RBI double in the eighth. He's in the midst of a modest five-game hitting streak and has put together a .256/.340/.333 slash line with one homer, eight RBI and two stolen bases over 31 games in 2021.

Rendon (knee) has resumed light baseball activities, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Rendon was placed on the 10-day injured list with a bruised left knee Wednesday, and manager Joe Maddon has said that the third baseman could return when he's first eligible Friday. Rendon will take grounders Monday and could continue to ramp up his activities in the coming days.

Moustakas will start at first base and bat cleanup Monday against the Pirates.

Manager David Bell appears to have settled on Moustakas as the primary replacement at first base for Joey Votto (thumb). Moustakas will be picking up his third start at the position in as many games, and with Votto likely to remain sidelined for all of May, Moustakas should quickly gain eligibility at first base in most fantasy leagues. Moustakas already carries eligibility at third base (19 starts in 2021) and second base (31 starts in 2020) in the majority of formats.

Maggi left Sunday's game for the Triple-A St. Paul Saints in the first inning with an undisclosed injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Maggi was off to a slow start at Triple-A by hitting .188 (3-for-16) with no extra-base hits. The utility man, who turned 32 in March, figures to offer organizational depth for the Twins in 2021.

Chapman went 3-for-4 with a run in a loss to the Rays on Sunday.

Chapman had the only multi-hit effort of the afternoon for the Athletics in the losing cause. The slugging third baseman hadn't tallied more than one hit in any game since April 29, and he's in a bit of a long-ball slump at the moment with two home runs over the 85 plate appearances covering his last 22 games.

Burger (quadriceps) went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI for Triple-A Charlotte in its 12-9 loss to Gwinnett.

Burger was sidelined for a few days after suffering a quad strain in Charlotte's season opener, but the third baseman has now appeared in two games for the affiliate. He celebrated his return to action in style Sunday, taking Atlanta pitching prospect Kyle Muller deep in the first inning for his first home run at the Triple-A level and his first in affiliated ball since 2017. Burger previously missed the entire 2018 and 2019 seasons after tearing his Achilles tendon and requiring surgery on two separate occasions, and he didn't play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor-league season.

Devers went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and a strikeout in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.

Devers put the Red Sox on the board with a solo home run in the second inning Sunday, and he drove in two more runs with a double in the top of the sixth frame. In his last five games, Devers has gone 6-for-19 with a home run, three doubles, seven RBI, five runs and a stolen base.
