Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Cubs' Jeimer Candelario: Will stay with Cubs after call-up
After being called up as the 26th man for Tuesday's doubleheader, Candelario is expected to remain on the MLB roster, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports.
With pitcher Dylan Floro getting optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday, Candelario will stick around for more than just a day. The Cubs' No. 4 prospect, Candelario was slashing .340/.443/.649 at Triple-A, so his bat appears to be MLB-ready. He'll provide depth behind Kris Bryant for the time being.

Cubs' Jeimer Candelario: Starting second game of doubleheader
Candelario will start at third base and bat cleanup in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Candelario will step into a prominent spot in his third career major-league start, batting fourth against lefty Kyle Freeland. As the designated 26th man for Tuesday's twin bill, Candelario will have to head back down to the minors following the nightcap. However, Candelario is batting .340/.443/.649 in 115 plate appearances at Triple-A Iowa this season and it may not be long before he forces his way up for good.

Cubs' Jeimer Candelario: Will be added as 26th man Tuesday
Candelario will be added as the 26th man for Tuesday's doubleheader with the Rockies, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
MLB rules allow teams to add a player to their 25-man rosters for doubleheaders, so the Cubs will call up Candelario. The young third baseman will provide depth on Tuesday, but is likely ticketed for a return to Triple-A Iowa after the two games.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Pirates' Kevin Newman: Mediocre start at Double-A
Newman, 23, is hitting .260/.327/.350 with one home run and seven RBI through 24 games for Double-A Altoona.
Newman certainly showed he could handle the bat in 2016, hitting .366 at High-A before ending the season at Double-A. He has returned to the same level with mixed results. While he has an advanced approach at the dish, he managed just five home runs and 10 steals last year. As a result, he may not prove much of a fantasy asset.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Gets day off Sunday
Arenado is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
After starting the team's first 31 games, Arenado will receive his first day of rest Sunday against the Diamondbacks. The star slugger will be replaced by Pat Valaika at third base. Expect Arenado to rejoin the heart of the Rockies' batting order Monday against the Cubs.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Homers in back-to-back contests
Rendon went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Saturday's 6-2 victory over the Phillies.
Rendon launched his sixth blast of the season to help the Nats win a big divisional contest. He now has belted five homers over his last six games and is slashing .290/.372/.477.

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Clubs fourth homer of season
Rendon went 3-for-4 with a homer, a walk and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over the Phillies.
Rendon smacked his fourth homer of the year to stake the Nats to a four-run lead in a winning effort. After his three-homer outburst earlier in the week, he's clubbed four homers over the last five games, and he appears on his way to another 20-homer campaign with his usual solid batting average.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Comes through with timely hitting Wednesday
LeMahieu went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI singles and a run in Wednesday's 11-3 win over the Padres.
The Rockies' second baseman opened the scoring on the night with a hit into right that brought home Charlie Blackmon in the first and followed that up with a fifth-inning RBI single that extended Colorado's lead to 10-1. It was a welcome outing for LeMahieu, who came into the game mired in a 2-for-20 slump that had lowered his average to .255. Although he's seen a significant reduction in his overall line and RBI production thus far in 2017, the 28-year-old is actually sporting better walk and strikeout rates than last season. The major difference lies in his BABIP, with his current .295 figure almost a full 100 points lower than last season's unsustainable .393.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Jacks sixth homer Wednesday
Suarez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk against the Pirates on Wednesday.
His first-inning bomb against Jameson Taillon turned out to be all the offense the Reds would need. Last season was a roller coaster, but this year has seen Suarez leap out to a monstrous start, as his .322/.408/.611 line is elite. Suarez has cut down his strikeouts noticeably and raised his walk rate considerably, and while some BABIP regression will surely lower his average, it still looks like he's turning into a legitimate cross-category contributor.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Progress at Daytona
Senzel went 2-for-4 with a double Tuesday for High-A Daytona, Zach Buchanan from the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Senzel, the Reds' first-round draft pick in 2016, is hitting .288/.345/.413 with Daytona, and is 4-for-4 on the basepaths. The Reds haven't disclosed their plans as to when they'll promote Senzel to Double-A.
