Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Two more home runs
Muncy went 3-for-4 with two solo homers in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.
With a pair of homers off Ivan Nova, Muncy lifted his total to 20 through 185 at-bats this year. This breakout has come completely out of the blue, but the batted-ball numbers suggest the power is absolutely real. He was starting at second base again Tuesday, his seventh start at the position this season.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Goes deep in blowout win
Muncy went 1-for-5 with a walk, a solo home run and three runs scored in Monday's 17-1 blowout win over the Pirates.
Muncy got another start at second base -- as expected against a right-handed starter -- and has now made six starts at the keystone this season. It won't be long before the 27-year-old gains eligibility at the position in standard league formats. Muncy's .271/.414/.613 slash line already plays well at first base, but his value will receive a boost with the added positional flexibility. The slugger's 18 homers would currently lead all qualified second basemen.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Should start swinging soon
Longoria (hand) is expected to resume taking swings in about a week, the Associated Press reports.
Longoria has seemingly progressed as anticipated after undergoing surgery June 19 to repair his fractured left hand. He'll likely first start taking dry swings, then move on to hitting off a tee and in the cage before finally facing live pitching in batting practice. The third baseman was handed a 6-to-8-week recovery timeline after undergoing surgery, putting him in line for a return from the disabled list in early-to-mid August.

Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD
Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Promoted from Triple-A, in lineup Sunday
Asuaje was recalled from Triple-A El Paso and will start at second base and bat sixth Sunday against the Pirates.
Asuaje assumed the active roster spot of outfielder Matt Szczur, who was designated for assignment. After losing out on his starting role at the keystone and being banished to the minors in late May, Asuaje caught fire at the plate, slashing .338/.408/.492 across 149 plate appearances with El Paso. Though he'll receive the starting nod Sunday, Asuaje may have to settle for a backup role behind Jose Pirela on most occasions.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Named primary second baseman
Muncy will start at second base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Rockies. Manager Dave Roberts relayed that Muncy will serve as the Dodgers' primary option at the keystone against right-handed pitching, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Muncy has seen most of his action at the corner-infield spots this season, but Roberts believes that having Cody Bellinger at first base and Justin Turner at third base is the optimal setup for the Dodgers. That won't result in Muncy being phased out of the lineup, however, as the 27-year-old's unexpected excellence at the plate this season will allow him to retain a regular role at second base, a position where he possesses limited familiarity. Roberts is apparently willing to live with Muncy's lackluster defense due to the significant offensive upgrade he'll provide over Logan Forsythe, who projects to man the keystone primarily against left-handed pitching. The third man on the depth chart, Chase Utley, is only expected to garner one start per week at the position.

Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD
Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Will be called up Sunday
Asuaje will be recalled from the minors prior to Sunday's series finale against the Pirates, MLB.com's AJ Cassavell reports.
Asuaje earned the callup after slashing .338/.408/.492 over 35 games with Triple-A El Paso. The 26-year-old added third-base eligibility to his resume in the minors, and he figures to serve in a backup role at the keystone and the hot corner once he joins the big club. Matt Szczur will be designated for assignment in order to make room for Asuaje on the 25-man roster.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Smacks fifth homer
Anderson went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a second run scored in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Mets.
His sixth-inning shot off Jacob deGrom got the Marlins on the board, giving Anderson five homers on the season to go along with a .292/.367/.416 slash line. While he offers limited power, his hit tool and consistent playing time still provide the 25-year-old with a solid floor for fantasy value in deeper formats.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Clears fences for second straight contest
Rendon went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Phillies on Saturday.
The infielder left the yard for the second straight night, planting a no-doubter into the left field stands off Tommy Hunter to bring Washington within a run in the sixth inning. His 11th launch of the year was also his fifth in nine games, and in those nine contests to close out the month, he went 13-for-38 (.342), elevating his slash line to a sterling .292/.356/.530 in 264 plate appearances.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Three extra-base hits in Friday's win
Rendon went 3-for-6 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and three RBI in Friday's rout of the Phillies.
He was right in the thick of a 17-run, seven-homer explosion from the Nats offense, continuing a hot streak that has seen Rendon slash .400/.433/.782 with eight multi-hit performances, 13 extra-base hits (nine doubles, four home runs), 11 RBI and 12 runs over his last 14 games. On the season, the 28-year-old now boasts a .289/.354/.517 slash line with 10 homers, 33 runs and 34 RBI in 60 games.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Mashes 20th homer
Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run to help Colorado to a 3-1 victory over the Dodgers on Friday.
It was the 20th homer of the season for the stud third baseman, who got to Scott Alexander with an eight-inning solo shot. Arenado is in the midst of yet another brilliant, MVP-caliber season, as he's currently slashing .310/.394/.593 with 57 RBI and 18 doubles to go along with the 20 long balls.
