  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Drives in two more

McMahon went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI on Saturday against the Reds.

McMahon drove in the game-winning runs for the Rockies in the sixth inning with a two-RBI triple. He now has a four-game hitting streak and at least one hit in six of his last seven starts. McMahon has been particularly productive to start the first two contests of Colorado's homestand, homering once while driving in five.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Back from suspension

Arenado (suspension) will start at third base and bat cleanup Sunday versus Arizona, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Arenado had the two-game suspension reduced to one contest on appeal and served the ban Saturday. He'll rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale while in the midst of a modest four-game hit streak, during which he's gone 7-for-13 with two doubles, three walks, three RBI and one run.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Clubs clutch homer in loss

Machado went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run in Saturday's loss to Pittsburgh.

Machado came up with a big blast in the eighth inning Saturday, driving in two with a 426-foot shot to center to give the Padres a short-lived two-run lead. The homer was Machado's fourth of the season and first since April 19. The veteran finished April with the most hits (32) and the second-highest average (.386) in all of baseball.

  • Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI

Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Notches steal in loss

Sosa went 0-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Diamondbacks.

The Cardinals were only able to put four runners aboard Saturday against Merrill Kelly and a pair of relievers. Sosa has started to mount a playing-time challenge to primary shortstop Paul DeJong, though both infielders are below the Mendoza Line. Sosa is slashing .174/.269/.174 with three runs scored and a stolen base in 26 plate appearances, but all four of his hits have been singles. He'll need to show more at the dish to justify a larger role.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Nearing rehab assignment

Longoria (finger) ran the bases Saturday and could begin a rehab assignment next week, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Longoria began a hitting progression in mid-April and increased his intensity this week. While the Giants haven't indicated what day the 36-year-old's rehab assignment will begin, it's possible he'll be able to make his season debut late next week or sometime next weekend.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Giants' Jason Vosler: Crushes first long ball

Vosler went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run during Friday's 14-4 loss to Washington.

Vosler took Washington starter Aaron Sanchez deep to center in the second inning to bring San Francisco within one run. The 28-year-old has gone 5-for-21 with four walks in seven games this season and should continue to see regular playing time while veterans Brandon Belt (COVID-19 IL), Evan Longoria (finger) and Tommy La Stella (Achilles) are injured.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Suspension reduced to one game

Arenado had his two-game suspension reduced to one game, which he'll serve during Saturday's matchup against the Diamondbacks, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Arenado was disciplined for his role in a brawl Wednesday against the Mets, and he'll be unavailable off the bench Saturday. However, the 31-year-old should be back in action for Sunday's series finale against Arizona. Brendan Donovan is starting at third base and batting eighth Saturday.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Pops first homer of 2022

Peterson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 11-1 rout of the Cubs.

He took Kyle Hendricks deep in the second inning, kicking off a six-homer barrage by the Brewers. The long ball was Peterson's first of the year, and while he's been seeing plenty of playing time while Luis Urias (quadriceps) has been sidelined, he hasn't done much with the opportunity, slashing .171/.277/.244 in 47 plate appearances.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Not starting Saturday

Arenado isn't starting Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Arenado is in the midst of a four-game hitting streak in which he's gone 7-for-13 with two doubles, three RBI, a run and three walks. He's appealing a two-game suspension for his role in a brawl Wednesday against the Mets, but Saturday's absence from the lineup appears to be a routine day off. Brendan Donovan will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Mashes sixth homer

Riley went 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run home run in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.

The third baseman took Garrett Richards deep in the first inning, giving Atlanta a lead it would never relinquish. Riley is having one of his patented hot streaks, slugging four of his six homers on the season over the last six games to push his slash line up to .282/.371/.603.
