  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Scores twice Sunday

Candelario went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Royals.

Candelario's hit was a double, his fifth of the season. Over the last seven games, Candelario has delivered four multi-hit performances and is hitting .277 with an .849 OPS after 20 outings this season.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Royals' Mike Moustakas: Hits sixth home run Sunday

Moustakas went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's victory over the Tigers.

Moustakas continued to deliver at the plate Sunday as he extended his hit streak to 14 games and mashed his sixth home run of the year. Moustakas' RBI total is now at 17, and he's struck out in just 13.6 percent of his plate appearances thus far.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Hits two more home runs Sunday

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a walk and two home runs in Sunday's 7-3 victory over the Orioles.

Coming off Saturday's 3-for-4 performance in which he hit a solo shot, Ramirez didn't show any signs of slowing down Sunday. He hit his sixth and seventh home runs of the year and collected three RBI while scoring twice. Through 19 games, Ramirez is hitting .236/.353/.528 and has stolen two bases.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Extends hit streak to five

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 7-1 win over the White Sox.

It wasn't too long ago that manager A.J. Hinch gave a scuffling Bregman a day off, then dropped him in the order. He responded to the day off by having hit safely in four games -- he has a five-game hitting streak going back to the game before the day off -- including three straight with multiple hits. He's got the average up to .253, but more is expected from the 24-year-old.

  • Orioles' Manny Machado: Crushes two more home runs Sunday

Machado went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Indians.

Machado brought his home run total up to eight for the season, as his recent tear at the plate continued Sunday. Over the last four games, he's gone 8-for-15 with five home runs, giving him an outstanding .356 batting average and 1.147 OPS for the year.

  • Drew Robinson 3B | TEX

Rangers' Drew Robinson: Opportunities to decline with DeShields back

Robinson is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners.

Robinson had been seeing regular starts in the outfield against right-handed pitching for the past three weeks, but his opportunities will likely dry up completely after Delino DeShields (hand) was activated from the disabled list Sunday and immediately inserted into the lineup. Though Robinson's ability to back up three infield spots will keep him on the active roster as a utility man for the time being, he hasn't done enough offensively to warrant a longer look from manager Jeff Banister. Robinson has hit .179/.281/.250 and has struck out in 31 of his 64 plate appearances (48.4 percent) on the season.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Second three-bagger of season Saturday

Chapman went 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk in a win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Chapman's second three-bagger of the season was no small feat, as it came off a Chris Sale offering. The 24-year-old has now hit in three straight games, although he's only 3-for-14 overall during that stretch and 3-for-21 in his last six contests. Despite the rough patch, a hot start to April that has included five home runs still has Chapman's monthly line at an impressive .299/.390/.597 over 76 plate appearances.

  • Pedro Alvarez 3B | MIA

Orioles' Pedro Alvarez: Moves into two hole vs. righties

Alvarez will serve as the Orioles' designated hitter and bat second Sunday against the Indians, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Alvarez had been used out of the two hole in each of the previous three games, but managed just one hit across 13 at-bats. The ongoing absence of Trey Mancini (knee) gives the Orioles few attractive alternatives near the top of the lineup, so Alvarez will get another look as the No. 2 hitter Sunday, though it's difficult to see him finding much success against two-time Cy Young winner Corey Kluber.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Back in action Sunday

Moncada (hamstring) will start at second base and bat leadoff Sunday against the Astros.

Moncada made just one plate appearance in Saturday's 10-1 loss before being removed with a tight left hamstring. It was always believed that the injury was a mild one, and Moncada's inclusion in the lineup a day later suggests his early exit Saturday was mostly precautionary. Assuming he escapes Sunday's contest without any setbacks, Moncada looks like a safe fantasy option heading into the White Sox's eight-game slate this week.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Yankees' Jace Peterson: Dropped from 40-man roster

The Yankees designated Peterson for assignment Sunday.

Peterson's removal from the 40-man roster cleared a spot for long reliever David Hale, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. It's the second time in two weeks that Peterson has been designated for assignment by the Yankees, with the club having previously re-signed the versatile 27-year-old after he went unclaimed off waivers. If no team expresses interest in adding Peterson to its 40-man roster, he'll likely remain in the organization and report to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
