  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Remaining out of lineup

Garcia (hand) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Cardinals.

Garcia will miss a second straight start due to left hand soreness. The injury forced Garcia from Tuesday's game against the Nationals, but it's something he's dealt with off-and-on for the past month. Consider him day-to-day. Nick Loftin will get another start at third base in Garcia's stead.

  • Weston Wilson 3B | SEA

Mariners' Weston Wilson: Catches on with Seattle

The Mariners signed Wilson to a minor-league contract Sunday and assigned him to Triple-A Tacoma.

Wilson has gotten off to a hot start at the plate since reporting to Tacoma earlier this week, going 6-for-9 with a double, a walk and a pair of stolen bases in his first two games. The 31-year-old had previously spent the start of the season with the Orioles, slashing .231/.348/.333 over 46 plate appearances in 21 games before being pushed off the 40-man roster earlier this month and electing free agency upon clearing waivers.

  • Addison Barger 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Rehab could be pushed to next week

Barger (elbow) might not begin a rehab assignment until early next week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Barger continues to make progress with his right elbow inflammation but could need an additional few more days than expected to ramp up activities before he's cleared to play in games. He should still be able to return to the Blue Jays' active roster before the end of June.

  • Zack Gelof 3B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Keeps streak alive with homer

Gelof went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 12-4 loss to the Pirates.

Gelof's hitting streak was on the line, but he extended it to 21 games with a ninth-inning solo shot. He's now batting 30-for-82 (.366) with five homers and 12 RBI during the streak. The infielder is hitting .286 with an .843 OPS, 11 homers, 29 RBI, 35 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 58 contests this season.

  • Orioles' Blaze Alexander: Gets on base four times

Alexander went 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Mariners.

Alexander made his fourth straight start at third base as he continues to take control of a starting role. He's earned it with five multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, a span in which he has gone 13-for-25 (.520) with four doubles and three RBI. The infielder is now batting .310 with a .788 OPS, two home runs, 19 RBI, 20 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple and seven stolen bases over 175 plate appearances this season.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Out against lefty

McMahon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

The Yankees will go with a right-handed-heavy lineup to counter White Sox southpaw Anthony Kay, so McMahon will retreat to the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Spencer Jones and J.C. Escarra. Amed Rosario will step in for McMahon at third base and will bat third.

  • Caleb Durbin 3B | BOS

Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Taking seat Wednesday

Durbin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

The Red Sox will go with Isiah Kiner-Falefa at third base while Durbin exits the lineup for the first time since May 27, ending a stretch of 16 consecutive starts for the 26-year-old infielder. After a brutal start to the season, Durbin began to catch fire at the plate upon returning to the lineup May 28, slashing .341/.348/.636 with two home runs, one stolen base, six runs and nine RBI over his ensuing 12 starts. However, Durbin's move to the bench Wednesday comes while he's gone hitless in 14 at-bats in his last four starts.

  • Donovan Walton 2B | ATH

Angels' Donovan Walton: On bench, but earning time vs. RHP

Walton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Though he'll be on the bench Wednesday while southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez draws the start for Arizona, the left-handed-hitting Walton might have earned himself a regular spot in the lineup against righties for the time being. Since being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 22, the 32-year-old journeyman has produced a .340/.375/.491 slash line with six extra-base hits, eight runs and six RBI over 56 plate appearances versus right-handed pitching. He served as the Angels' designated hitter in each of the team's last four matchups with righties.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Included in Wednesday's lineup

Keith (wrist) will start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Keith was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup due to wrist soreness, but it will be just a one-game absence from the starting nine. The 24-year-old clubbed three home runs in Monday's victory in Houston.

  • Raynel Delgado 2B | HOU

Astros' Raynel Delgado: Clutch hit in win

Delgado went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Tigers.

Delgado put the Astros ahead 3-2 in the eighth inning with his two-run single off Will Vest. The 26-year-old Delgado has appeared in two games with Houston since he was acquired from Tampa Bay last week, going 3-for-7. Delgado slashed .249/.316/.360 with 24 steals in 61 Triple-A games this season.
