Arraez went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.
Arraez accounted for the only runs off Boston starter Michael Wacha with his two-run shot to right field in the third inning. He added another RBI on a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Arraez batted a modest .269 in August to drop his season average to .318, which still ranks third among qualified major-league hitters.

Reds' Jonathan India: Reaches base five times in loss
India went 2-for-4 with an RBI and three walks in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.
India notched an RBI single off Jose Quintana in the bottom of the third inning, giving the Reds a 1-0 lead. He also added another single and three walks later in the contest. India extended his hit streak to 14 consecutive games Wednesday, batting .333 with a five extra-base hits, five RBI and 11 runs over that stretch.

Tigers' Zack Short: Sent to minors
Short was optioned to Triple-A Toledo after Wednesday's loss to the Mariners, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Short was promoted by the Tigers last week and appeared in four games during his brief time in the majors, and he went 0-for-6 with a walk, two RBI and three strikeouts. The 27-year-old will head back to the minors with Spencer Torkelson and Ryan Kreidler set to be called up Thursday.

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Knocks homer in win
Andrus went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Royals.
Andrus put the White Sox ahead with a solo shot in the fifth inning and added another RBI on a groundout in the seventh. The homer was his first since joining Chicago and his ninth of the year. The shortstop is slashing .239/.299/.372 through 117 games overall, but he's hit a little better (.250) in 11 games with the White Sox. He's added 36 RBI, 45 runs scored and eight stolen bases when accounting for his time with Oakland.

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Nearing rehab assignment
Guillorme (groin) could begin a rehab assignment as early as Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Guillorme carried a three-week return timetable after landing on the injured list with a left groin strain Aug. 15, and he seems to be on track in his recovery process since he's closing in on a rehab assignment. Assuming he joins a minor-league affiliate Sunday, it wouldn't be surprising to see him rejoin the Mets sometime the following weekend.

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Not starting Wednesday
Stott is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game at Arizona, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Stott started the past seven games and will head to the bench Wednesday after going 4-for-24 with two doubles, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base during that stretch. Edmundo Sosa will take over at shortstop and bat ninth in the series finale.

Rojas isn't starting Wednesday against the Phillies.
Rojas went 1-for-11 with a run, two walks and four strikeouts over the last three games and will get a rare day off Wednesday. Emmanuel Rivera is starting at the hot corner and batting third.

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Remains sidelined Wednesday
Polanco (kneecap) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Polanco will sit out a fourth consecutive game while he continues to contend with left patellar tendinitis, affording Nick Gordon another start in the middle infield. The Twins are off Thursday, so the team will presumably wait and see how Polanco is feeling physically in advance of Friday's series opener with the White Sox before having a better sense of whether he'll require a stint on the injured list.

Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Returns to lineup
Haggerty (finger) is starting Wednesday against the Tigers.
Haggerty was out of the lineup for the last three games due to a finger injury, but he'll start in left field and bat ninth Wednesday. Since the start of August, he's hit .320 with two home runs, two doubles, eight runs, seven RBI and five stolen bases.

Espinal isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.
Espinal has gone 0-for-8 with a walk and a strikeout over his last three games and will head to the bench for the third time in the last four matchups. Whit Merrifield is starting at the keystone and batting ninth.
