  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Activated Thursday

Rodgers (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Rodgers was sidelined with a left hamstring strain over the last week and a half but will rejoin the Rockies after a minimal IL stint. The 26-year-old will reclaim his role as Colorado's primary second baseman over the final week of the regular season, while Connor Joe (shoulder) was placed on the injured list to make room for Rodgers on the active roster.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Day off Thursday

Lux isn't in the lineup for Thursday's contest in San Diego, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Thursday marks the third time Lux will sit in the Dodgers' last five games. While he's in the dugout, Chris Taylor will start at second base, opening up left field for Trayce Thompson to start and bat seventh.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Swipes 11th bag Wednesday

Kemp went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run in a loss to the Angels on Wednesday.

The veteran led off and provided one of the few productive nights at the plate for a largely moribund Athletics offense. Kemp has been wielding a mostly productive bat for the last month-plus, posting a .286 average, .790 OPS, nine extra-base hits and 17 RBI over his last 28 games, all while striking out a tiny 6.1 percent clip. Both his RBI and stolen-base production are also at a career-best level this season, as Kemp has set high-water marks with 45 runs driven in and 11 thefts (in 12 attempts) across 141 games.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Swipes 19th bag

Hoerner went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Philadelphia.

Hoerner kicked off the Cubs' four-run rally in the fifth with a leadoff single before stealing second. He later came around to score Chicago's first run of the game after Yan Gomes grounded into a fielder's choice play at shortstop. Hoerner is just 2-for-12 (.167) since returning from the injured list (triceps) with a stolen base and a run scored while striking out four times.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Sitting out Thursday

Stott is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Stott went just 2-for-31 (.065) over his last nine games, so he will be held out Thursday for the first time since Sept. 7. Nick Maton will start at shortstop in Stott's place.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Missing from Thursday's lineup

Massey is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

Massey has been getting chances to show what he can do against left-handed pitchers, but he will not be in there Thursday against southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez after going just 6-for-38 (.158) over his last nine games. Nicky Lopez will man the keystone in Massey's place.

  • Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Rejoins starting nine

Arroyo (illness) is in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles.

After spending the last two innings of Wednesday's game at second base, Arroyo will join the starting nine Thursday for the first time since Sept. 18. He will start at second base and hit seventh in Boston's batting order.

  • Alan Trejo SS | COL

Rockies' Alan Trejo: Swats homer in loss

Trejo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.

Trejo popped the ball off and over the right-field wall in the fifth inning for a 332-foot solo shot. It was his first homer since Sept. 13 and his fourth of the season. Trejo has been hitting well of late, going 11-for-33 (.333 average) with two doubles, a homer and four RBI over his past nine contests.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Gets third start in four games

Dubon will start in center field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Dubon will be making his third start in four games after going 1-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI over his previous two contests. He may be working his way into a timeshare with Trey Mancini and Aledmys Diaz for one spot in Houston's everyday lineup.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Mariners' Adam Frazier: Sits against lefty

Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rangers.

Frazier has a .459 OPS through 22 games in September and will take a seat Wednesday for the second time in Seattle's past four contests. Dylan Moore will start at the keystone with southpaw Martin Perez on the mound for Texas.
