Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Receives call-up
The Marlins recalled Edwards from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Edwards will get his first taste of major-league action with the Marlins at age 23, likely operating in a utility role in Miami's infield. He had slashed .306/.427/.361 with zero home runs and seven stolen bases through 20 games (90 plate appearances) this season at the Triple-A level.

Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL
Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Big night from leadoff spot
Dubon went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, two RBI and two runs scored Monday against the Giants.
Dubon was the driver of the Houston offense for most of Monday night, as he tallied RBI hits to tie the game and to give the team the lead in the fifth and seventh innings, respectively. He had been in a cold spell at the plate entering the contest, going just 6-for-29 with no RBI and four runs scored across his previous seven games. Overall, Dubon has still had an impressive start to the season, maintaining a .340 on-base percentage and tallying 40 runs across 106 plate appearances while regularly serving as the leadoff hitter.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
White Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Placed on 10-day IL
Gonzalez was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to May 1, with right shoulder inflammation.
Gonzalez will miss at least the next nine days while recovering from what sounds like a minor shoulder issue. The 26-year-old utilityman had gone just 5-for-36 (.139) with a .333 OPS through 21 games this season with Chicago.

Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC
Royals' Nicky Lopez: Out with appendicitis
Lopez was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Royals on Tuesday due to appendicitis, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Presumably, Lopez will need a few weeks of recovery time following an appendectomy. The infielder hasn't had a set starting position this season but has essentially been a regular between third base, second base and shortstop. Maikel Garcia is taking his roster spot.

Enrique Hernandez SS | LAD
Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Two throwing errors in return
Hernandez started at shortstop and went 1-for-4 in Monday's 6-5 win over Toronto.
Hernandez returned to the lineup after missing two days with ankle soreness. His biggest impact on the game came in the field, as Hernandez committed two throwing errors in the eighth inning that allowed the Blue Jays to tie the game. He ranks last among shortstops at minus-6 OAA. That poor fielding could result in more starts for Christian Arroyo at short, as the the Red Sox attempt to get by until Trevor Story's expected return from an elbow injury during the second half of the season.

Enmanuel Valdez 2B | PIT
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Launches first MLB homer
Valdez started at second base and went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Monday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.
Valdez, who made his fifth straight start at second base, drilled a 427-foot bullet to center field, giving Boston a 5-3 lead in the sixth inning. It was the first home run of his MLB career. The 25-year-old infielder was called up to Boston when Yu Chang (wrist) landed on the IL and has produced better than his .184 average at Triple-A Worcester suggested he might. Valdez has hit safely in six of seven games, going 8-for-24 with three RBI, one stolen base and three runs.

Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Drives in three
Kim went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Monday's victory against the Reds.
Kim doubled and scored in the fourth inning before drilling a three-run shot in the fifth. Since hitting his last homer April 9, the 27-year-old had been stuck in a 9-for-54 (.167) drought. He bumped his season slash line up to .222/.307/.378 with eight extra-base hits and nine RBI through 102 plate appearances.

Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Heads back to minors
The White Sox optioned Sosa to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
Sosa's demotion to the minors opens up a spot on the 26-man active roster for Tim Anderson (knee), who is expected to be formally reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's series opener versus the Twins. The 23-year-old was unable to capitalize on Anderson's absence, as Sosa recorded just eight hits in 53 at-bats (.151 average) upon being recalled from Triple-A on April 11.

Brett Wisely 2B | ATL
Giants' Brett Wisely: Sticks with big club
San Francisco recalled Wisely from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
Wisely was actually already with the big club after serving as the 27th man for its two-game series with the Padres in Mexico City over the weekend, but he'll now remain a member of the 26-man active roster after Mike Yastrzemski (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. While Yastrzemski is on the shelf, the lefty-hitting Wisely could end up handling the strong side of a platoon in center field with the righty-hitting Austin Slater. Wisely will start in center and bat ninth in Monday's series opener in Houston, according to Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com.

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Heads to bench Monday
Arroyo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
While Enrique Hernandez was sidelined for the final two games of the Red Sox's weekend series with the Guardians, Arroyo started at shortstop in both contests and went 5-for-7 with a double, two walks, four RBI and three runs. Despite the big finish to the weekend, Arroyo will hit the bench Monday with Hernandez returning to action at shortstop and with rookie Enmanuel Valdez getting another turn at second base. Since Valdez is a left-handed hitter, the righty-hitting Arroyo could end up settling into a short-side platoon role at the keystone.
