Rays second baseman Logan Forsythe's bruised right foot remains sore, but he could be used in a pinch hit situation Wednesday if needed and is expected to play again this week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Forsythe exited Tuesday's game early due to the foot sprain, but it sounds as though the injury is minor in nature. Nick Franklin will take his place in the lineup Wednesday, however, batting ninth for the Rays.

Forsythe exited Tuesday's game with a bruised right foot, and it will cost him Wednesday's contest as well. Considering the Rays have been eliminated from the playoffs, they will likely take precautions with him, making sure he's fully healthy before inserting him back into the lineup. Nick Franklin will replace him at second base Wednesday, batting ninth.

Pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes was called up by the Angels on Wednesday. The 30-year-old lefty will return to the majors for the first time since 2011, providing the Angels with some added bullpen depth for the final five games of the regular season.

Reyes will also be available for the postseason roster, but it's hard to imagine he will have a spot, especially considering his .362 BAA and 1.89 WHIP allowed to left-handed hitters at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Grant Green was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. His defensive versatility was not enough to compensate for the lack of offensive production at the major league level.

In 21 games with the big club this season, Green went just 8 for 42 (.190 average) with one extra-base hit and 14 strikeouts, lowering his line at the highest level to .249/.283/.335. The 28-year-old did hit .306/.337/.449 at Triple-A Salt Lake this season, so it's at least possible he could draw interest from another club.

An Adam Conley pitch plunked Forsythe on the foot in the first, and while he was able to stay in the game initially, Forsythe was ultimately lifted for Tim Beckham after the second inning. It sounds like Forsythe was fortunate enough to escape without any serious damage to the foot, though it's always possible the Rays could opt to send him for additional testing.

He took his base after being hit by the Adam Conley pitch, and then played the field in the top of the second, but Forsythe was ultimately lifted for Tim Beckham prior to the start of the third inning. Forsythe's status for the final two games of the series is up in the air.

Yangervis Solarte is in the Padres' lineup Tuesday and will play third base.

As expected, Solarte will make his return from a hamstring injury that has limited him to pinch-hit appearances in three of his last four games. He'll bat second behind newly-returning first baseman Wil Myers when the Padres take on Brewers' rookie righty Jorge Lopez.

Phillies infielder Andres Blanco was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.

Blanco was terrific Monday, recording three hits --- one of which was a home run ---- in six at-bats against the Nationals, but he will get the night off Tuesday in favor of Darnell Sweeney, who will take over at second base and hit sixth in the lineup.

The Dodgers activated infielder Enrique Hernandez (hamstring) from the disabled list Monday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. 

Hernandez is ready to go after missing a month with his hamstring injury. He will not start Monday, though, and will likely fill mainly a situational role the rest of the way.

Rockies infielder Cristhian Adames was removed from Sunday's game against the Dodgers in the second inning due to a neck bruise and a right index finger bruise, the Associated Press reports.

Adames suffered the pair of contusions when he collided with the Dodgers' Joc Pederson while covering third base. The Rockies had been using Adames as their regular shortstop the last few days with Jose Reyes (Achilles) recovering from an injury of his own. If both players are unavailable for Tuesday's series opener in Arizona, Rafael Ynoa or Daniel Descalso would likely get the start at short.

Mariners shortstop Ketel Marte hit his first career home run in a 1 for 4 effort in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.

Marte has solidified a very nice role with the Mariners starting every day and batting atop the lineup. With the speed and average he provides out of the shortstop position, he'll definitely be worth keeping an eye on in fantasy drafts next season. In 50 games played this season, Marte has a .288 average to go with 14 doubles and seven steals.
