Franklin went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 11-6 loss to the Cubs.

He started in left field, but Franklin ended up being double-switched out of the game. Still, this was a good first impression for him in a Brewers jersey, as Franklin's 2017 had otherwise gotten off to an ignominious start -- he was waived by Tampa prior to Opening Day and claimed by Milwaukee on Wednesday, so this was his first appearance of the season. He seems set to serve as a utility man for the Brewers, which could help Franklin carve out some value in NL-only leagues.

Forsythe is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies, J.P. Hoornstra of Southern California News Group reports.

Forsythe will take a seat after starting the first five games of the season, giving way to Chase Utley. The 30-year-old is just 2-for-18 with eight strikeouts to start the year.

Franklin will play right field and bat sixth in Saturday's matchup against the Cubs.

Ryan Braun was a late scratch with back tightness, opening up the door for Franklin to start his first game as a Brewer. The 26-year-old slashed .270/.328/.443 across 174 at-bats with Tampa Bay last season, adding six homers and 26 RBI.

Frazier is playing second base and leading off in Saturday's game against the Braves.

With David Freese (chest) out of the lineup Saturday, Frazier will man second base as Josh Harrison slides over to the hot corner. The Pirates have shown faith in Frazier early on this season, and he'll often be in the lineup for interleague play, but he likely won't see everyday at-bats in National League play unless injuries open up an opportunity.

Altuve went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Royals. It was his fourth multi-strikeout effort in five games.

When Altuve didn't strike out Friday, he hit into two double plays. Through five games, Houston's three-hole hitter is 3-for-21 with eight strikeouts and three GIDP. The strikeouts really stand out -- he had just seven games all last season with multiple strikeouts. April hasn't typically been a poor month for Altuve, who has a 10-percent strikeout rate in 309 April at-bats over the last three seasons.

Solarte went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a run and four RBI Friday against the Giants.

Solarte doubled in a pair of runs in the seventh inning to give the Padres a lead they'd never relinquish. After seeing most of his major offensive numbers grow over each of the past three seasons, his quick start to the season provides hope that he can make another jump in production during his age-29 season.

Semien went 1-for-3 with a walk, run and stolen base in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

Semien's third-inning single to deep center and Mike Trout's subsequent error while playing the ball brought home Adam Rosales to open the scoring for Oakland. The slugging shortstop also swiped his first bag of the season and has now hit safely in three straight games.

Hernandez is in the Dodgers' Friday lineup, batting seventh and starting at shortstop against the Rockies, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez is filling in for Corey Seager against Colorado left-hander Kyle Freeland. The utility player will piece together at-bats every week filling in at several positions, chiefly against southpaws. Deep-league and daily fantasy players could take a justifiable look at Hernandez for their Friday lineups.

Herrera (shoulder) was not in the lineup for Triple-A Louisville's season opener on Thursday night.

This despite the fact that the Bats were able to field a DH on Thursday night. Herrera was sent to the Reds' minor-league camp during spring training relatively early because of his inability to play the field due to his shoulder injury.

Drury is not in the lineup Thursday against the Giants.

Drury is making the most of his everyday playing opportunities thus far, but he'll get a regular day of rest Thursday. Daniel Descalso will log a start at the keystone in his stead.
