Torres (elbow) underwent successful Tommy John surgery Wednesday.

Torres injured himself sliding headfirst into home plate in a Triple-A game last week. After a successful surgery, the Yankees' top prospect -- who was lining up to make his MLB debut later in the season -- will now look to heal up before spring training rolls around next year. He compiled a .309/.406/.457 slash in 96 plate appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season after being promoted from Double-A Trenton in late May.

Semien's (wrist) rehab assignment will be extensive according to manager Bob Melvin, Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Melvin made it a point to emphasize that Semien's assignment, which is scheduled to begin Friday at High-A Stockton, will not just be a matter of a few games, instead remarking it will be "almost like spring training". The slugging shortstop has been sidelined since April 14 with his injury and has logged just 46 plate appearances in 2017.

Forsythe went 2-for-5 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 12-0 win over the Mets.

The veteran infielder was mired in a 8-for-66 slump since returning from the disabled list May 23, but he appears to be trending in the right direction with two consecutive multi-hit games. Forsythe is performing well under his career averages, so he could be worth a look in the event he was given up on following his injury and lengthy slump, especially if he continues to bat leadoff -- like he did Tuesday -- for a high-powered Dodgers lineup.

Polanco is not in the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

This marks the second day in a row that Polanco will cede the start at shortstop. He's been struggling at the plate as of late, and this break could be a way to let him get his mind right before resuming his normal duties at shortstop. Ehire Adrianza will take over at shortstop for the evening.

Tomlinson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Braves.

The 27-year-old filled in for Eduardo Nunez at the hot corner after the veteran aggravated his hamstring injury. If the latter is forced to miss more time or go on the disabled list, Tomlinson and his .294 batting average could start in the interim. The utility infielder doesn't bring much power to the table (.364 slugging percentage in 369 plate appearances), but his ability to hit for average and steal bases as a middle infielder has a place in fantasy if he were to ever earn a regular role.

Green was signed by the White Sox and assigned to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Green was released by the Nationals last week after appearing in 40 games with Triple-A Syracuse this season, where he slashed .246/.319/.285, but failed to make much of an impact on his overall stock. Over 129 career games with the A's, Angels, Giants and Nationals, the 29-year-old has compiled a .246 average and 38 RBI while mainly being used as a reserve infielder. He'll serve as organizational depth for a White Sox team already dealing with injuries to Tyler Saladino and Leury Garcia, but remains a longshot to see much, if any, major-league playing time.

Rodgers was promoted to Double-A Hartford following Tuesday's California League All-Star Game, Hudson Belinsky of Baseball America reports.

Rodgers is coming off a scorching first half of the season with High-A Lancaster, where he hit .400/.419/.700 with 12 home runs and two stolen bases to earn a start in Tuesday's All-Star Game. The Rockies' No. 1 prospect will continue his tour in the minors at Hartford, where he will once again benefit from a hitter-friendly ballpark.

Franklin went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to Pittsburgh.

He doesn't play much and he's still hitting under the Mendoza Line, so Franklin's certainly fallen a long way since his days of being a highly regarded prospect. Expect Franklin to continue coming off the bench and seeing minimal at-bats unless injuries hit the Brewers' infield hard.

Solarte will be placed on the 10-day disabled list due to a left oblique strain, Dennis Lin of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Solarte suffered the injury while taking a right-handed swing during pre-game warmups. The timing of this injury couldn't have come at a more inopportune time, as Solarte has been one of the hottest hitters in the majors over the past few weeks. He'll likely be placed on the disabled list Wednesday with Ryan Schimpf or Carlos Asuaje being recalled from Triple-A El Paso to fill the void in the infield.

Solarte was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cubs due to a strained left oblique.

Solarte was listed as the starting second baseman ahead of Tuesday's game but did not head on to the field in the top of the first inning. It's possible that he sustained the oblique injury during warmups, which would explain why Chase d'Arnaud started the game at the keystone. It sounds as if Solarte will be headed to the disabled list.
