Haggerty (undisclosed) was activatedfrom the minor-league 7-day disabled list Sunday.

Haggerty will return to the Double-A Akron roster after a month-long absence. The infielder held a .188 average through 40 plate appearances prior to his placement on the DL.

Torres went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer Saturday against the Royals.

Torres connected on his fourth home run of the season, this one coming off left-hander Danny Duffy in the third inning. He has now reached base at least once in nine of his last 10 games, producing three home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored in that stretch. He's hit an impressive .325/.384/.519 through the first 77 at-bats of his career at the major-league level.

Forsythe is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Forsythe will continue the trend of not starting in consecutive games since coming off the disabled list Tuesday. Chase Utley will bat sixth and start at second base as Washington sends Max Scherzer to the mound.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.

Frazier will head to the bench for the third time in the last four games as lefty Clayton Richard takes the hill for San Diego. Sean Rodriguez starts at second base and is batting leadoff for the Bucs.

Betancourt (elbow) was released by the Brewers on Saturday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Betancourt had yet to pitch this season due to undergoing surgery in December after sustaining a gunshot wound in his left arm in Venezuela. It remains unclear if the 22-year-old was nearing a potential return, but he must now hope to latch on elsewhere, assuming he is able to play this season.

Arroyo went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a triple, two walks and a run in a win over the Angels on Friday.

Arroyo drew a second consecutive start at third base with Matt Duffy (hamstring) still sidelined, and he delivered a pair of hits for the second time in as many games. The 22-year-old reached safely in four of five plate appearances overall and has opened his Rays career by going 4-for-8 over his first two games. Duffy is expected back in the lineup for Saturday's contest, but it's conceivable manager Kevin Cash opts to keep the hot-hitting Arroyo in the lineup by either deploying him or Duffy at designated hitter.

Tomlinson is out of the lineup against Colorado on Saturday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Tomlinson will get a regular day off following six straight starts, including back-to-back hitless outings to open this series. Miguel Gomez will man the keystone in his stead.

Kemp went 2-for-3 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI in Friday's 4-1 win over the Indians.

Kemp delivered in a key moment -- with two men on in the bottom of the seventh inning of a 1-1 game -- lacing a ground-rule double that plated the go-ahead run. It was the Astros' lone hit with men in scoring position and the type of competitive at-bat the Astros had been lacking out of their nine-hole hitters this season -- that spot produced 75 strikeouts and a .188 batting average entering the game. The lack of production at the bottom of the lineup warranted Kemp's call-up, Houston's first performance-based transaction of the season, and he produced immediately. Aside from George Springer, no Astros outfielder has done enough to be a lineup staple -- not Josh Reddick (.228), not Marwin Gonzalez (.221), not Derek Fisher (.176). There's an opening for Kemp to get regular at-bats.

Solarte went 2-for-4 in Friday's loss to the A's.

The Jays only managed six hits on the night, with Solarte being the only Toronto player to have a multi-hit performance. The versatile infielder has struggled to find a rhythm at the plate lately, hitting only .250 (18-for-72) in May, but he does have two homers and 11 RBI through 17 games on the month.

Merrifield went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and three stolen bases to help the Royals to a 5-2 victory over the Yankees on Friday.

On the two-year anniversary of his callup to the big leagues, Merrifield showed why he's developed into one of the more dynamic offensive second basemen in the game as he wreaked havoc all day long against the Yankees. The three steals brought his total on the season up to 12 to move him to fourth in the majors, and he was also able to bring his average up to an even .300 with the three-hit effort. So far, it's looking like last season's breakout campaign that saw him emerge as a five-category asset was not a fluke.
