Semien went 2-for-6 with a three-run triple, a three-run home run and an RBI fielder's choice groundout in a win over the Royals on Monday.

Semien's spectacular RBI total was a career high and spearheaded the Athletics' offense on a night when it generated 19 runs overall. The veteran shortstop has four multi-hit tallies over his last nine games and 17 RBI in August, the latter equaling his highest total in any month this season.

Hernandez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a pair of walks in Monday's loss to San Diego.

Hernandez gave the Dodgers a short-lived lead in the sixth inning with a 425-foot blast to left field. The long ball was his first since being activated from the injured list Aug. 20, though he has batted .333 (6-for-18) with two doubles since his return. Overall, Hernandez is slashing .243/.316/.442 with 17 homers and 55 RBI this season.

Torres went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's win over Seattle.

Torres got the Yankees on the board with a 438-foot moonshot to center field in the second inning. The long ball was his fourth in the last five games and 13th overall this month, placing him in the record books alongside Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle as the only Yankees ever to hit 13 or more homers in August. In his second major-league season, the 22-year-old has compiled an impressive .287/.351/.552 slash line while cranking 33 home runs and collecting 77 RBI in 505 plate appearances.

Joseph is not in the lineup Monday against the Royals.

Joseph is slashing just .214/.233/.357 in eight games since earning a promotion, so he'll head to the bench for the second time in three games even with a right-hander in Brad Keller starting for the opposition. In his place, Jurickson Profar is starting at the keystone and hitting eighth.

Lopez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Indians in 10 innings.

Lopez's two-run double in the eighth inning looked like it would provide plenty of cushion for the Royals, but the bullpen squandered a five-run advantage before Ryan O'Hearn's solo blast won it for Kansas City in extras. Though Lopez is holding down an everyday role, don't expect much consistent impact from him as a run producer. He had driven in only 12 runs in 34 games since the All-Star break before tying his career high with the three RBI in the series finale.

Lux could be added to the Dodgers' active roster in September, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Previous reports indicated that the organization was considering bringing up Lux in a "ride-along" role in which he would participate in team activities but not be eligible to play in games. That stance may be changing, however, with the 21-year-old continuing to rake at the Triple-A level, posting a .407/.493/.747 slash line with 12 homers and 38 RBI in 44 games with Oklahoma City. Although the recent returns of Chris Taylor and Kike Hernandez from the injured list would seem to make even fewer at-bats available for Lux, the positional flexibility of both major-league veterans -- and the Dodgers' massive lead in their division -- could allow the team to work their top prospect into the lineup down the stretch.

Altuve went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-2 win over the Angels.

A close game turned into a rout when the Astros plated seven runs in the eighth inning as Altuve's two-run blast capped the scoring. It was his 24th home run, tying his previous career high set in 2016 (he did it again in 2017).

Manager Alex Cora said the Red Sox wouldn't activate Chavis (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list during the club's two-game set in Colorado that begins Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Chavis began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday and played back-to-back days, going 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles between the two contests. Though Chavis was only shut down for around two weeks before heading to the minors, the Red Sox apparently want him to get in some more at-bats at Triple-A before bringing him back as their everyday second baseman. Chavis could be activated from the IL in advance of Boston's series with the Angels next weekend.

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Since returning from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Hernandez had started in four of the Dodgers' last five games, going 5-for-15 with two doubles and two RBI. He'll cede his spot in the lineup for the series finale to Matt Beaty, who draws a start at first base.

Forsythe will start at third base and bat seventh Sunday against the White Sox.

He'll be making his seventh consecutive start, which includes six straight turns at the hot corner. Injuries to Nomar Mazara (oblique), Joey Gallo (wrist) and Hunter Pence (back) have indirectly opened up playing time for Forsythe lately, but he'll be one of the Rangers most vulnerable to losing work once any of three banged-up players return to action.
