Hoerner (hamstring) played catch and took some swings off a tee Tuesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

The 24-year-old was placed on the 10-day injured list May 26 with a strained left hamstring, and Tuesday's light activities are a significant step in the right direction for his rehab. Hoerner remains without a clear timeline to return, and he'll likely require a rehab assignment before being activated.

Guillorme (oblique) will play a few more games at Triple-A Syracuse before an expected return to the Mets this weekend, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

It was reported Saturday that Guillorme was on track to return to the Mets at some point this week, and New York has now targeted the upcoming weekend series against the Padres for the infielder's activation from the injured list. He should be able to find a fair share of at-bats with Jeff McNeil (hamstring) and J.D. Davis (hand) still on the injured list.

Jones (oblique) was activated off the minor-league injured list Tuesday.

Jones hit the injured list in mid-May with a strained left oblique, an injury which was originally expected to keep him out for days rather than weeks. He played just six games for Triple-A Norfolk prior to suffering the injury but could make his case for a big-league call-up if he hits well upon his return, as the Orioles have turned to players like Stevie Wilkerson and Pat Valaika at second base in recent weeks.

McNeil (hamstring) may start his rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse as soon as Friday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Once healthy, the versatile McNeil will be an invaluable addition to the Mets' injury-depleted roster, even if he underperformed (by his standards) with a .242 average before suffering the hamstring strain in May.

Lowe will hit the bench against lefty Jon Lester and the Nationals on Tuesday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Lowe has had more than a platoon role this season, but he's now been on the bench against three of the last five southpaws the Rays have faced. He's hitting just .192/.304/.369 on the season, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see his playing time continue to dip until he turns things around. Mike Brosseau will be the second baseman Tuesday.

Double-A Montgomery reinstated Edwards (oblique) from the 7-day injured list Tuesday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Edwards landed on the IL with the oblique issue in early May, and after a month-long absence, he looks ready to make his 2021 and organization debut. The 21-year-old switch-hitting infielder slashed .301/.349/.367 over 217 plate appearances at High-A Lake Elsinore in 2019 as a member of the Padres organization. Tampa Bay acquired Edwards in the deal that sent Tommy Pham and Jake Cronenworth to San Diego prior to the 2020 campaign.

Brujan owns a .305/.407/.543 slash line with four doubles, seven home runs, 21 RBI, 13 steals, 18 walks and 26 runs across 123 plate appearances at Triple-A Durham.

Fellow elite prospect Wander Franco is grabbing a lot of the spotlight, but as Brujan's numbers clearly indicate, he's having no trouble shining regularly against the highest level of competition in the minors either. Adam Berry of MLB.com reports Brujan just received the organization's Minor League Hitter of the Month award for May, and his lauded pound-for-pound strength has already led to some surprising power displays. Brujan and Franco are regularly heading up the top of the order for the Bulls as a 1-2 punch thus far this season, and the former's defensive versatility could certainly lead to him getting his first big-league promotion at some point in 2021.

Arroyo went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's 5-3 victory over Miami.

Arroyo drove home a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a single to right field, extending Boston's lead to three. Monday marked the sixth time this season he's slotted in as the leadoff hitter, a role that's been occupied by Danny Santana of late. Arroyo is slashing .301/.350/.441 with 11 extra-base hits, 10 RBI and one stolen base through 31 games this season.

Andrus went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.

The veteran shortstop mustered the only multi-hit effort on a difficult afternoon for the Athletics offense. Andrus' season slash line is up to .214/.259/.273, unsightly numbers that nevertheless qualify as his highest in all three categories since Opening Day.

Haggerty (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.

Haggerty has been sidelined since May 24 due to right shoulder inflammation, and he still doesn't have a clear timetable to return. He won't be eligible to return until at least late July, while his move to the 60-day IL is part of a shuffle to make room for Shed Long (shin), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move.
