Hoerner (general soreness) isn't starting Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh.

Hoerner will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game as he continues to deal with general soreness. Sergio Alcantara will start at shortstop and bat seventh.

Arroyo is not starting Tuesday against the Orioles, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Arroyo appears to be behind Jose Iglesias on the depth chart, as he's out of the lineup again Tuesday despite appearing to have a favorable matchup with lefty Bruce Zimmermann taking the mound for Baltimore. With Iglesias being ineligible for the postseason roster, however, Boston will likely look to get Arroyo a start or two later this week in order to get him back into the flow of things. The infielder has had just four at-bats since returning from the COVID-19 IL last Wednesday.

McNeil will sit for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Marlins.

McNeil has hit an unimpressive .260/.295/.370 thus far in September. He isn't necessarily sitting for performance reasons, however, as it's standard procedure to sit regulars for one end of a twin bill. Kevin Pillar starts in left field in McNeil's absence.

Biggio (elbow/back/neck) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's matchup with the Yankees.

Biggio was initially placed on the injured list with neck and back problems in early August and his recovery was later delayed by a UCL sprain suffered a few weeks later. He was able to resume his rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Sept. 11 and wound up going 10-for-44 with two homers and 10 RBI across 12 games. The 26-year-old hit a disappointing .215/.316/.350 while serving in a near-everyday role to begin the season, so he's far from a guarantee to reclaim his spot at third base from Santiago Espinal, who's hit .291/.354/.379 while serving as his primary replacement. Nonetheless, Biggio's defensive versatility and high offensive upside should help him see the field in some capacity during the season's final week and into the playoffs should Toronto qualify.

Rodgers (head) has passed all concussion protocols after leaving Monday's game against Washington, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Rodgers was hit in the helmet by a 92 mph fastball, but he managed to walk off the field and has now cleared concussion protocols. The team will continue to monitor the infielder as a precaution.

India went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, a double, four runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 13-1 win over the Pirates.

India continued his hot streak with a monster performance Monday that included his 21st home run and 12th steal of the season. He's gone 8-for-19 (.421) with seven runs scored and five extra-base hits over the last four games. The rookie infielder is now sporting a .273/.380/.466 slash line with 96 runs scored through 614 plate appearances.

Rodgers left Monday's game against the Nationals after a fastball hit him in the helmet, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

It was a good sign to see Rodgers walk off the field after a fastball drifted high and inside, and he unsurprisingly was pulled from the contest. Garrett Hampson entered the game at second base in Rodgers' place. The extent of his injury is unknown at this time.

Kemp, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and a run in a win over the Astros on Sunday, went 5-for-8 overall in his two starts against his old club during the three-game weekend series.

Kemp had been mired in an 0-for-19 slump that covered a seven-game span heading into the weekend set, but he put that behind him in fine fashion against his old team. Kemp owns a solid .267/.378/.394 slash line on the season, and he's already established a new career high in extra-base hits with 24 (15 doubles, three triples, six home runs).

Rosario went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, double, three RBI and two runs in Monday's victory over the Royals.

Rosario notched an RBI-double in the first inning, launched a solo home run in the third and then singled in another run in the sixth. The home run was his 11th of the year and first since Aug. 31. Since the beginning of the month, he had struggled to a .188 average with only two multi-hit efforts over 16 contests.

Miller is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Miller had started in three of Cleveland's last four games, but he'll likely see his opportunities against right-handed pitching take a hit over the final week of the season now that Amed Rosario has returned from the COVID-19-related injured list. The lefty-hitting Andres Gimenez should still sit against left-handed pitching, which will open up work for Miller at the keystone.
