Mets' Amed Rosario: Swelling diminished, still day-to-day

Rosario has diminished swelling in his right index finger, but remains day-to-day, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

It remains to be seen if he will get back in the lineup Friday against lefty Amir Garrett, or if he will sit out a fifth consecutive game. If he needs another day, Jose Reyes would be the likely starter at shortstop.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Activated from DL

Frazier (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day DL prior to Friday's game in St. Louis, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

The 25-year-old is hitting a very respectable .280 with a .351 OBP in his first full season in the big leagues. Unfortunately, he has chipped in just four home runs and eight steals in 391 plate appearances, so his lack of power and impact speed caps his value in roto leagues. He should serve as the Pirates' primary second baseman over the rest of the season, but with expanded rosters, he is unlikely to start every day.

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Could return Friday

Manager Clint Hurdle said Frazier (hamstring) could return from the 10-day disabled list Friday, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Frazier was able to run the bases with no issues Wednesday, clearing the way for him to rejoin the Pirates ahead of their weekend series with the Cardinals. The 25-year-old compiled a .280/.351/.386 line in 104 games before landing on the shelf with a hamstring strain at the end of August. Once he returns, Frazier should immediately reclaim his role as the Pirates' primary second baseman, although with expanded rosters, he doesn't figure to play every day.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Remains out of lineup Thursday

Rosario (finger) is not in the lineup against the Reds on Thursday.

Rosario will miss a fourth consecutive game while dealing with a bruised right index finger, while Jose Reyes nabs another start at short. He should be considered day-to-day moving forward, and could return to the lineup for Friday's contest.

  • Padres' Yangervis Solarte: Cranks 16th homer

Solarte went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 3-1 loss to St. Louis on Wednesday.

Solarte set a new career high in homers with his 16th blast in 107 games. The 30-year-old's .255 batting average hinders his fantasy value, but he has provided enough pop to stay relevant as a middle infielder in most formats.

  • Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Logan Forsythe: Heads to bench Wednesday

Forsythe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Forsythe will head to the bench for a breather after starting eight of the last nine games, going just 3-for-26 (.115) over that stretch. Chase Utley will take over at the keystone, batting seventh.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Runs bases Wednesday

Frazier (hamstring) was able to run the bases prior to Wednesday's game and should be back in the lineup soon, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Frazier was placed on the 10-day DL on Aug. 28 with a right hamstring strain, but appears to be on the verge of returning to the big-league club. Head athletic trainer Todd Tomczyk stated that he's completed all the necessary rehab work, according to Adam Berry of MLB.com, and it's expected that he will be back before this weekend's series against the Cardinals.

  • Phillies' Eliezer Alvarez: Dealt to the Phillies

Alvarez was traded to Philadelphia for Juan Nicasio on Wednesday,

Alvarez was a top-20 prospect in the St. Louis system and has received his first taste of Double-A action this season. During 54 games with Springfield, the infielder slashed .247/.321/.382 with four home runs, 26 RBI and eight stolen bases. Moving forward, the 22-year-old should be able to compete at the Triple-A level with Lehigh Valley next season.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Can't swing bat yet

Rosario (finger) still can't swing a bat, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.

He is out of Tuesday's lineup, and it doesn't sound like he'll be back in there in the coming days, considering he can't even swing a bat yet. Jose Reyes is starting at shortstop and leading off in his stead.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Remains out Tuesday

Rosario (finger) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Phillies.

He will miss his second straight game with a bruised right index finger. X-rays came back negative, so Rosario should be considered day-to-day. Jose Reyes will start at shortstop and lead off.
