Tim Tawa 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: Optioned to Reno
The Diamondbacks optioned Tawa to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Tawa has struggled during his time in the majors, slashing .200/.262/.355 with six homers, 14 RBI, 21 runs scored and seven steals through 173 plate appearances. He'll be sent back to Triple-A in order to get back on track, clearing space on the roster for Corbin Carroll's (wrist) return from the injured list.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Plays hero in Subway Series
McNeil went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the Yankees.
Getting a start at second base and batting fifth, McNeil put the Mets in the lead by taking Luke Weaver deep in the seventh inning, then helping squelch a potential Yankees rally in the ninth with a spectacular defensive effort -- on a DJ LeMahieu flare headed for right field, McNeil raced to his left, reached out and snagged the ball on a bounce after it looked like it had gotten past him, and got up in time to record the out at first base. The 33-year-old continues to split his time between the keystone and center field, and since the beginning of June he's slashing .271/.336/.500 with six homers, 12 runs and 16 RBI in 27 contests.

Brett Wisely 2B | ATL
Giants' Brett Wisely: Homers off bench in loss
Wisely went hit a solo home run in his lone at-bat in Friday's 11-2 loss to the Athletics.
Wisely's first homer of the year got the Giants on the board in the seventh inning. He's gone 6-for-21 (.286) across nine games during this stint in the majors, and three of his hits in that span have gone for extra bases. Even with modest success at the plate, Wisely's chance to carve out playing time at third base is likely to end Saturday when Matt Chapman (hand) comes off the injured list. Wisely can still push Tyler Fitzgerald for time at second base, but the former's versatility on defense makes him arguably more valuable as a bench bat.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Making move to hot corner
Edman will begin playing third base against right-handed pitchers next week, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Edman has been logging time at second base and in center field this season, but the Dodgers are in need to a fill-in at the hot corner for at least the next six weeks while Max Muncy (knee) is out of action. Edman does have some experience at third, but his last time seeing action there during a regular-season contest was in 2022 when he was with St. Louis. Plunkett notes that Edman has been getting in reps at third base during practice and that Hyeseong Kim will move to second base on days when Los Angeles faces right-handed starters, while Miguel Rojas and Enrique Hernandez are expected to split work at the hot corner versus southpaws. From a fantasy perspective, Edman could gain eligibility at third base if he ends up being the Dodgers' primary option there against righties for as long as Muncy is out.

Tim Tawa 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: Starts at first base
Tawa started at first base and went 0-for-3 in a 7-2 loss to the Giants.
Tawa filled in for Josh Naylor, who was held out against San Francisco lefty Robbie Ray. Naylor, who recently experienced neck stiffness, had just returned to the starting lineup Wednesday as the designated hitter, and the decision to sit him Thursday does not appear to be injury related. Tawa has gone hitless over his last 24 at-bats while striking 10 times (41.7 percent strikeout rate).

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Lifts late homer in loss
Marte went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Giants.
Marte has homered in back-to-back games for the third time in the last two weeks. In that span dating back to June 20, he has gone 17-for-51 (.333) with seven homers and 16 RBI. This power surge has the second baseman closing in on a third straight 20-homer season -- he's at 19 for the year while adding a .299/.402/.603 slash line, 40 RBI, 50 runs scored and two stolen bases across 61 games. If he can stay healthy in the second half, he could take a run at his career high of 36 homers from last year.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Brings home four runs
Estrada went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, two additional RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 7-6 win over Houston.
Estrada got the Rockies on the board with a two-run homer in the first inning and kept Colorado in the game with RBIs in the third and seventh. Estrada has logged at least three hits in four of his last six starts and has gone 12-for-26 (.462) with one steal and eight RBI over that span. He is slashing .317/.339/.436 with two home runs and 18 RBI over 109 plate appearances this season.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Getting action at third Thursday
Rojas (finger) is starting and third base and batting ninth Thursday against the White Sox.
Rojas appeared to injure his finger by jamming it on a stolen-base attempt Sunday in Kansas City and left the game early. After not appearing in the first two games of the series against the White Sox, he is in the lineup Thursday in place of Max Muncy (knee) at third.
-
Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Rare day off Thursday
Turang isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.
Turang slashed .421/.452/.579 with 10 RBI and 11 runs scored during his 14-game hitting streak, which came to an end when he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader. He'll get a chance to rest during Thursday's series finale in Queens while Andruw Monasterio starts at second base and bats ninth.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Sitting versus southpaw
McNeil is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Brewers.
Southpaw Jose Quintana is toeing the rubber for the Brewers, marking the third straight time the left-handed-hitting McNeil has been absent from the lineup against a lefty. He had started versus four left-handers in a row before that and has a higher OPS against southpaws (.850) than he does righties (.812) this season, so McNeil shouldn't be considered an auto-sit versus lefties moving forward. Brett Baty is at second base and Tyrone Taylor is in center field for the Mets in the series finale.
