Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Protected from Rule 5 draft
Turang was added to the Brewers' 40-man roster Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
While Turang continues to toe the line between future starting second baseman or utility player, he was a lock to get added to Milwaukee's 40-man roster as protection from the Rule 5 draft. Turang can play all three up-the-middle spots and hit .286/.360/.412 with 13 home runs and 34 steals in 131 games at Triple-A. He turns 23 this month and should serve as Kolten Wong insurance in 2023.

Jake Alu LF | WAS
Nationals' Jake Alu: Added to 40-man roster
Alu was added to the Nationals' 40-man roster Tuesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Alu is a nice deep-league sleeper, as he had statistical success at Triple-A and has a pretty clear path to playing time in the majors. Carter Kieboom and Ildemaro Vargas are the top options at third base for the Nationals, so Alu could get a look at the hot corner at some point in 2023. The 25-year-old lefty hitter slashed .323/.372/.553 with 11 home runs, six steals and an 18.2 percent strikeout rate in 59 games at Triple-A.

Isan Diaz 2B | DET
Giants' Isan Diaz: Contract selected by Giants
Diaz's contract was selected by the Giants on Wednesday.
Diaz was traded from the Marlins to the Giants in late April, and he slashed .275/.377/.574 with 23 home runs, 61 RBI, 60 runs and seven stolen bases over 83 games at Triple-A Sacramento last year. He'll likely be in the mix for a big-league roster spot during spring training in 2023.

Jose Fermin 2B | STL
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Dealt to St. Louis
The Cardinals acquired Fermin from the Guardians on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.
St. Louis immediately added Fermin to its 40-man roster, something the Guardians weren't likely to do this offseason. Since the 23-year-old would have been a candidate to get selected in the Rule 5 draft, the Guardians opted to deal him to St. Louis so as not to lose him for nothing. Fermin slashed .215/.336/.322 with six home runs and nine stolen bases across 330 plate appearances at Triple-A Columbus in 2022, and he'll likely stick around in the International League and join the Cardinals' top affiliate in Memphis to open the 2023 campaign.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Out against lefty
Stott will sit for Game 6 of the World Series on Saturday.
Stott will sit against lefty Framber Valdez, just as he did in Game 2. Edmundo Sosa will get the start at shortstop, batting ninth.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Hits bench against lefty
Stott will sit for Game 2 of the World Series against the Astros on Saturday.
Stott hits the bench against lefty Framber Valdez, with Edmundo Sosa starting at shortstop. He could be an option off the bench against a right-handed reliever or as a defensive replacement.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Two doubles in Game 3 win
Stott went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored during Friday's 4-2 win over the Padres in Game 3 of the NLCS.
Stott entered Game 3 only 2-for-19 in the postseason with one extra-base hit, but he was able to smack two doubles in his first two at bats against Joe Musgrove. After his double in the fourth inning, he was plated by a Jean Segura single to give the Phillies a 3-1 lead, and they would hold on for the crucial victory. Stott, a 25-year-old rookie, played in 127 games during the regular season, and he is gaining valuable experience in the postseason while being able to contribute for his team.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Padres' Brandon Drury: Knocks in three during Game 2
Drury went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three RBI during Wednesday's Game 2 of the NLCS in the 8-5 win over the Phillies.
Drury had been just 1-for-15 in the postseason and 4-for-31 dating back to the beginning of October, so Game 2's outburst was a pleasant surprise for the Padres. The 30-year-old veteran has played for six teams in eight seasons but has minimal playoff experience with just six plate appearances prior to the 2022 postseason. Look to see if Drury can follow up Game 2's offensive explosion as the NLCS progresses.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Resting against lefty
Stott is out of the lineup Wednesday for Game 2 of the Phillies' National League Championship Series with the Padres.
The Phillies will send two of their lefty-hitting regulars (Stott and Brandon Marsh) to the bench with southpaw Blake Snell on the hill for San Diego. Edmundo Sosa will check in for Stott at shortstop.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Hits bench against lefty
Lux will sit for Game 3 of the NLDS against the Padres on Friday.
The Dodgers are going with a righty-heavy lineup against southpaw Blake Snell. Max Muncy will handle second base in Lux's absence, with Austin Barnes entering in the lineup in his place, pushing Will Smith to designated hitter and Justin Turner out to Muncy's former spot at the hot corner.
