Jared Triolo SS | PIT
Pirates' Jared Triolo: Playing time likely to drop
Triolo is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.
Triolo had started in each of the last three games and in eight of the past nine contests, but with Oneil Cruz (illness) making his return to the lineup following a two-game absence, Triolo looks poised to see his playing time take a hit now that the Pittsburgh infield is back to full strength minus Nick Gonzales (groin). Trade-deadline pickup Isiah Kiner-Falefa has inherited Gonzales' everyday role at second base.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Rehab assignment on tap
Edman (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City during the weekend, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Edman is slated to play in a simulated game Thursday to test his wrist in the field, and he'll head back out on a rehab assignment if all goes well. The 29-year-old infielder is expected to remain in the minors for at least a week in what will be his third separate rehab stint of the year.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Getting night off against lefty
Turang is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
The lefty-hitting Turang will retreat to the bench for the second time in three games while Atlanta sends a lefty (Chris Sale) to the bump. Andruw Monasterio will replace Turang at second base.

Luis Garcia 1B | NYY
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Sitting against left-hander
Garcia is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
The left-handed-hitting Garcia has been scorching hot lately, but with lefty Blake Snell on the bump for the Giants, Garcia will begin the contest on the bench. Ildemaro Vargas will take over at second base and bat fifth.

Vidal Brujan SS | NYM
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Absent from Wednesday's lineup
Brujan is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
Brujan has now been out of the lineup each of the last three times the Marlins have faced a left-hander. He's started just two games in center field and five of 12 overall since Jazz Chisholm was traded to the Yankees on July 27. Cristian Pache will draw the start in center field Wednesday.

Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Slated for rehab games next week
Gonzales (groin) will join Triple-A Indianapolis later this week before beginning a rehab assignment next week, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Gonzales landed on the 10-day injured list in late July with a left groin strain but is almost ready for game action. Since he's been out of commission for less than two weeks, the infielder shouldn't need an extended rehab assignment being activated. Gonzales isn't a given to regain his spot at the top of the Pirates' depth chart at second base after the club acquired Isiah Kiner-Falefa at the trade deadline.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Steals base, scores twice in win
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Twins. He also stole a base.
Hoerner reached 20 stolen bases in a season for the third straight year as he continued his strong recent play. Over his last 10 games, the infielder is batting .302, and he's swiped six bases in that span. Hoerner isn't a huge power threat with just four home runs on the season, but he can be an effective fantasy asset when he's reaching base and running often.
