  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

    Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Homers again

Calhoun went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-0 win over the Astros.

Calhoun's fourth-inning blast was all starter Martin Perez needed. It was the third home run in the last four games by Calhoun and his fifth in six contests, including a two-homer game against Boston on Sunday. The right fielder is 8-for-20 with five homers, one double, seven RBI and seven runs scored in his last six games.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Continues strong run

Walker went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.

Walker is having himself a week. The first baseman has five hits over 21 at-bats, but four of the hits cleared fences. The homer binge gives him 10 in 40 games, vaulting him to the team lead in the category. He finished 2021 with the same number of home runs over 115 games.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Royals' Carlos Santana: Launches solo shot

Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Twins.

Santana entered Friday 0-for-19 in six games since returning from a stint on the injured list due to an ankle injury. He looked well on his way to another empty stat line before unleashing a solo shot in the seventh inning. The first baseman is batting a dreadful .128/.286/.233 with two homers, seven RBI, eight runs scored and three doubles through 105 plate appearances. His 18.1 percent walk rate is still solid, but he'll need to do more with the bat to avoid a potential reduction in playing time once the Royals' lineup gets healthier.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Launches ninth home run

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Friday's 7-0 win over Washington.

Tellez broke a scoreless tie with his two-run shot off of Erick Fedde in the sixth inning. He later doubled and scored another run in the eighth. The lefty slugger is now slashing .244/.313/.527 with nine home runs and 32 RBI through 144 plate appearances. Since his monster eight-RBI performance May 4, Tellez has gone 12-for-56 (.214) with two home runs over his last 14 appearances.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Padres' Luke Voit: Gets breather Friday

Voit isn't starting Friday against the Giants.

Voit went 1-for-6 with a walk and four strikeouts over the last two games, but he'll get a breather in Friday's series opener against the Giants. Robinson Cano will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Lands on 10-day injured list

Wade was placed on the 10-day injured list with left knee inflammation Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Wade appeared in Wednesday's matchup against the Rockies as a pinch hitter, but he'll ultimately require a trip to the injured list after being diagnosed with inflammation. Austin Slater will be in the mix for increased playing time in the outfield, while Luis Gonzalez was recalled by the Giants on Friday and should see his fair share of at-bats.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Active but on bench

Naylor was activated off the COVID-19 injured list Friday but won't start against lefty Tarik Skubal and the Tigers, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Naylor is good to go after missing nine games but won't play a major role in his first game back. Owen Miller will be the Guardians' first baseman Friday, but Naylor's return is nonetheless great news for the team as he hit .347/.377/.611 with five homers in 20 games prior to his absence. Richie Palacios was optioned to Triple-A Columbus to clear a roster spot.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Officially activated Friday

Votto (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Friday.

The veteran first baseman has been sidelined nearly three weeks after testing positive for the virus, but he's now back with the Reds after going 2-for-11 with four walks over a four-game rehab assignment in the minors. Votto was off to a slow start this season prior to the absence, hitting just .122/.278/.135 with a 32.2 percent strikeout rate.

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with an RBI double, a solo home run and two additional RBI during Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Mets.

Goldschmidt tied the game 2-2 in the third with a solo blast and gave the Cardinals a 3-2 lead in the fifth with an RBI double. The slugger added a sacrifice fly in the seventh and a game-tying RBI single in the ninth. Goldschmidt finished the four-game series against New York going 8-for-18 with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI and three runs.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Stays hot with walkoff blast
