Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Tallies eighth homer
Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two runs scored Wednesday against the Twins.
Vaughn smacked the game-tying homer in the eighth inning to record his eighth long ball of the season. It was his first home run since June 20 -- a span of 13 homerless starts -- and he hit just .182 with five RBI and five runs scored in that span. Despite the slow stretch, Vaughn still has a .298/.346/.455 line across 266 plate appearances for the season.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Scores twice in win
Diaz went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's victory over the Red Sox.
He scored on a Wander Franco single in the first inning and on a Randy Arozarena double in the third. Diaz extended his hit streak to 11 games with Wednesday's two-hit outing, and he has eight multi-hit performances during that span with just two strikeouts. During that time, Diaz increased his batting average from .257 to .295, and he's slashing .500/.594/.654 across seven games in July.

Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN
Twins' Alex Kirilloff: OK after collision
Kirilloff, who left Wednesday's game in the top of the seventh inning after he was involved in a collision with White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn, was said to be OK after the game, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Kirilloff was shaken up after the play but apparently did not suffer an injury. He may have been removed for a defensive replacement and pinch runner after reaching first base even if he avoided the collision.

Keston Hiura 2B | LAD
Brewers' Keston Hiura: Slugs eighth homer
Hiura went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Cubs.
Hiura took Adrian Sampson yard in the fifth inning to account for Milwaukee's only run of the game. Hiura has eight home runs on the season, three of which have come in his last nine games. Despite the hot stretch, he remains a part-time player for the Brewers and is striking out at a 44.7 percent clip across 132 plate appearances on the campaign.

Kody Clemens 1B | MIN
Tigers' Kody Clemens: Pops third home run
Clemens went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Guardians.
Spencer Torkelson (head) returned recently and is seeing regular run at first base, but Clemens has now started at second and third in the past few days. He's gone deep three times over his past seven contests, so while he might not have a clear path to playing time at first, the 26-year-old could carve out a utility role if he keeps hitting for power.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Heads to bench Wednesday
Flores is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Flores is 3-for-18 with a double, nine walks, an RBI and three runs over his past eight games and will take a seat Wednesday. David Villar will start at third base while Tommy La Stella works at the keystone.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Sitting again with sinus issue
Mountcastle (illness) will remain out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, but he's hopeful to start in Thursday's series opener against the Angels, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Though he'll be on the bench for the second game in a row while he battles a sinus issue, Mountcastle was at least able to take part in a pregame workout Wednesday. Mountcastle took approximately 30 swings and but was still feeling somewhat woozy afterward, according to Kubatko, which may have prompted the Orioles to exercise some extra caution with the 25-year-old. The first baseman is expected to be available off the bench, per Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com.

Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN
Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Exits after collision
Kirilloff was removed from Wednesday's game in the top of the seventh inning after he was involved in a collision with White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI before exiting the contest.
Kirilloff was credited with his lone hit of the day on the play in question. While Kirilloff was running to first base, he was upended by Vaughn, who dove directly into Kirilloff's running lane to retrieve an errant throw. Though Vaughn's foot was off the bag and Kirilloff reached on an infield single, Kirilloff looked to be in pain and was quickly pulled for a pinch runner. The Twins should provide a diagnosis for Kirilloff's injury later Wednesday.

Joey Votto 1B | TOR
Reds' Joey Votto: Dealing with back tightness
Votto isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets due to back tightness, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Votto was absent from Tuesday's lineup due to what manager David Bell called a "recovery day," but Bell revealed that the first baseman's exclusion from Wednesday's starting nine is due to a back issue. The 38-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now, but Donovan Solano should continue to see increased at-bats if Votto is forced to miss additional time.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Remains out of lineup
Rizzo (back) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Rizzo was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to lower-back stiffness and will be held out for a second consecutive matchup Wednesday. It's not yet clear if he'll be available off the bench or able to return to the starting nine for Thursday's series opener against the Red Sox. Giancarlo Stanton is serving as the designated hitter while Matt Carpenter starts in right field.
