Brewers' Tyler Black: Returns to minors
Milwaukee optioned Black to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Black had been called up from Nashville on Sunday and got into three games with the Brewers (though he made only one start), going went 2-for-6 with a double and an RBI. His return to the minors Saturday makes room on the 26-man roster for the return of Sal Frelick (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list.

Kemp isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.
Kemp will grab a seat on the bench Saturday after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts during Friday's series opener. Edmundo Sosa will fill in at the hot corner and bat seventh.

Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Hot streak continues Friday
Guerrero went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's win over the Tigers.
The first baseman has hit safely in seven straight games and has banged out at least one two-bagger in three straight, batting .483 (14-for-29) over those seven contests with a homer, seven RBI and nine runs. Guerrero's .846 OPS on the year is the highest it's been since the second game of the season, although it's still well short of his .940 mark from 2024, while his .291 batting average is at its highest point since mid-May.

Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Goes deep again Friday
Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jays.
Torkelson took Toronto starter Jose Berrios deep in the sixth inning for his 23rd home run of the season. After hitting zero homers in his first six games after the All-Star break, the slugger has now gone deep on consecutive days. Torkelson is known to be a streaky power hitter, so fantasy managers could be in for a homer binge at the moment.

Diamondbacks' Tristin English: Starts at first base
English started at first base and went 0-for-3 in Friday's 1-0 extra-innings win over the Pirates.
English got the start at first base in the first game Arizona played after trading Josh Naylor on Thursday. English was eventually lifted for a pinch hitter, and Eugenio Suarez moved from third to first base. While Pavin Smith (oblique) remains on the 10-day injured list, English should see the majority of starts at first base.

Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Makes history with four homers
Kurtz went 6-for-6 with four home runs, a double, eight RBI and six runs in Friday's 15-3 win over the Astros.
In a dazzling performance, Kurtz become the 20th player in MLB history and the first rookie to hit four home runs in a single game. His first long ball came in the second inning, a two-run blast that padded the lead to 5-0. He added an RBI double in the fourth before turning up the power late with solo shots in the sixth and eighth frames. Kurtz capped the historic performance with a three-run blast off position player Cooper Hummel in the ninth. In addition to joining the four-homer club, Kurtz also accounted for 19 total bases, tying the all-time single-game mark Shawn Green established in his own four-homer performance for the Dodgers on May 23, 2002. Kurtz is on an incredible tear with nine home runs in his current 12-game hitting streak, during which he has hit .553 (26-for-47) with 20 RBI.

Mariners' Josh Naylor: Debuting for new team Friday
Naylor is starting at first base and batting out of the cleanup spot against the Angels on Friday.
Naylor will make his Mariners debut one day after being traded by the Diamondbacks. The 28-year-old slugger, who has an .807 OPS with 11 steals, 11 home runs and 59 RBI this across 392 plate appearances this season, is expected to take over as the everyday starter at first base.

Astros' Logan Davidson: Claimed by Astros
The Astros claimed Davidson off waivers Friday.
The Athletics designated Davidson for assignment Wednesday, and he'll get a fresh start within the Astros' organization. The 27-year-old went 3-for-20 with the Athletics in 2025, but he slashed .266/.414/.402 in 326 plate appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Three more hits Thursday
Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Tigers.
The Blue Jays' $500 million man led the way in an 11-run, 15-hit barrage. It was Guerrero's third straight multi-hit performance, and over the last 15 contests he's slashing .375/.478/.500 with eight RBI and 12 runs. Despite that impressive stretch, he's still looking for his power stroke -- with 13 homers through 101 games, Guerrero's on pace to fall short of 25 over a full season for the first time.

Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Launches another homer
Contreras went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run and four RBI in Thursday's 9-7 win against San Diego.
The first baseman put St. Louis on the board with an RBI double in the opening frame and followed up with a three-run homer in the second inning. Contreras has a modest four-game hit streak with an extra-base hit in each of those contests, going 9-for-21 with four doubles and two home runs. The strong performance coming out of the All-Star break has boosted his season slash line to .262/.345/.452 through 98 games.
