  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Sitting against lefty

Singleton isn't in the Astros' lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Left-hander Garrett Crochet will start on the hill for Chicago, so the lefty-hitting Singleton will retreat to the bench. Mauricio Dubon will slide over to first base instead, opening up left field for Cooper Hummel.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Goes yard twice in loss

Harper went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Padres.

The 31-year-old slugger supplied all the Phillies' offense on the afternoon, taking Matt Waldron deep in the third inning before pulling a Jeremiah Estrada splitter down the right-field line in the eighth. Harper has caught fire in June, hitting safely in 10 of the last 11 games while batting .372 (16-for-43). The surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .285/.391/.539 with 17 homers, four steals, 45 runs and 48 RBI in 69 contests.

  • Tyler Locklear 3B | ARI

Mariners' Tyler Locklear: Losing out on work with France back

Locklear is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Locklear has stuck around with the Mariners following Ty France's (heel) return from the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Cleveland, but the rookie looks like he'll be in store for a drastic role reduction now that Seattle's top first baseman is back in action. After batting .222 with two home runs and a stolen base while starting in seven of the Mariners' subsequent eight games following his June 9 promotion from Triple-A Tacoma, Locklear now finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Goes yard Tuesday

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Goldschmidt opened the scoring in the first inning with his homer, though the Marlins quickly answered with a three-run blast from Jesus Sanchez in their half of the frame. Goldschmidt has gone 8-for-29 (.276) with two homers over his last seven contests, and he's been held hitless just twice in 17 games in June. Despite the recent consistency, he's slashing just .230/.303/.360 with nine homers, 29 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases over 70 contests this season.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Stays hot Tuesday

Alonso went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

The 29-year-old has reached base 10 times in the last four games, with three of his eight hits during that stretch going for extra bases (two doubles and a homer). Alonso is slashing .274/.366/.500 through 15 games in June with three home runs and 13 RBI as he looks to record his third straight 40-homer campaign. He currently has 15 round trippers.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Heading to bench Wednesday

Flores is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Flores has now hit the bench in two straight matchups with right-handed pitchers, though it's not yet clear if he's moved back into a pure platoon role at first base with the lefty-hitting Trenton Brooks, who gets the start Wednesday but is hitting .143 over 21 at-bats since getting called up from Triple-A Sacramento. Flores, meanwhile, is hitting .212 on the season, and he owns a .198/.291/.287 slash line over 117 plate appearances against righties.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: On base thrice in return

France (heel), activated from the injured list earlier in the day, started at first base in Tuesday's win over the Guardians and went 0-for-2 with three walks and a run.

While there was no big hit to commemorate the veteran's return from a minimum-length stay on the IL, France was a thorn in the side of Guardians pitching all night with his constant trips on the basepaths. Now apparently back to full health, France heads into the home stretch of June carrying an outstanding .295/.456/.523 slash line with six extra-base hits and 10 RBI in his last 15 games (57 plate appearances).

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Day off Wednesday

Cronenworth is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia.

Cronenworth will get his first day off in more than a month as the Padres and Phillies conclude their series with a day game after a night game. Tyler Wade will fill in at second base while Cronenworth gets some rest.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Racks up three hits

Schanuel went 3-for-4 with a double, one walk and one RBI in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Brewers.

Schanuel is starting to get in a groove at the plate, going 11-for-24 (.458) over his last seven games. That's a big improvement after he opened June 2-for-25 across seven contests. The first baseman is at a .233/.313/.362 slash line with eight home runs, 25 RBI, 24 runs scored, one stolen base and six doubles through 65 games overall.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: On fire in June

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Astros.

Vaughn grounded into a pair of fielder's choice outs to tally his two RBI. Though it wasn't a particularly notable performance, he now has five home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored across 14 games in June while also hitting .356.
