Triston Casas 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Triston Casas: Activation coming Friday
The Red Sox will activate Casas (ribs) from the 60-day injured list ahead of Friday's game in Baltimore, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Casas is finally ready to rejoin the Boston lineup after being shelved since late April with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage. The first baseman slashed .300/.404/.550 with one home run and seven doubles over 11 rehab games with Triple-A Worcester. Casas will be the everyday first baseman down the stretch, although it's possible he'll be given some extra off days initially following such a long layoff.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Absent from Baltimore lineup
Mountcastle is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox.
It's a routine day off for Mountcastle, who had started each of the previous four contests. Ryan O'Hearn is playing first base for the Orioles while Adley Rutschman handles designated-hitter duties.

The star first baseman has boosted his season batting average up to .291 as he attempts to finish with a .300 mark for the fifth consecutive campaign. Giants' LaMonte Wade: Getting day off vs. lefty

Tyler Black 2B | MIL
Brewers' Tyler Black: Exiting starting nine Thursday
Black is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers.
After getting called up from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Black sat out the Brewers' series opener versus the Dodgers but served as the designated hitter in both of the past two contests, going 0-for-6 with a walk and three strikeouts. He'll find himself on the bench for the finale, with Jake Bauers replacing Black in the lineup at DH. The Brewers could take a hot-hand approach to the DH spot while Christian Yelich (back) is on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Braves' Matt Olson: Goes deep in win
Olson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and three runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Giants.
Olson drew a walk in the opening frame before coming around to score on a Michael Harris grand slam. The first baseman would then add a home run of his own to lead off the third, giving him his fourth long ball this month and his 21st on the campaign. Olson has now hit safely in six consecutive games, tallying three homers, a double, eight RBI and six runs over that stretch. He's also driven in at least one run in three of his last five contests.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Stays hot with 25th homer

Guerrero drove home Daulton Varsho with a single in the top of the third and later added a two-run homer in the ninth, marking the second game in a row in which he's gone deep. The first baseman has also registered multiple hits in four of his last seven contests and is now batting .426 in August with four homers, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored.

Jonah Bride 3B | TEX
Marlins' Jonah Bride: Launches three-run homer
Bride went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional RBI in a loss to the Phillies on Wednesday.
Bride helped Miami get off to a promising start with a three-run homer in the first inning and added a sacrifice fly in the fourth, but the team's pitching couldn't contain Philadelphia's offense. Bride continues to be a bright spot for the Marlins, as he's notched at least one hit in 15 of 19 games since the All-Star break and is batting .308 (20-for-69) with five home runs and 17 RBI during that span. That has put him on the fantasy map, especially because he's moved into an everyday role since Josh Bell was traded to Arizona.

For the season, he's up to a .246/.329/.475 slash line, 26 homers, 68 RBI, 68 runs scored, 27 doubles and three stolen bases over 120 games.

Cronenworth now owns a six-game hitting streak and is batting .261 with two extra-base hits, seven RBI and three runs scored during that span. The 30-year-old is slashing .249/.318/.412 with 15 home runs, 70 RBI, 56 runs scored and two steals in 117 games this season.
