  • Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Supplies three hits in loss

Bernabel went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 10-8 loss to the Padres.

Bernabel had gone just 1-for-32 over his previous 10 games before breaking out of the slump with a big performance Saturday. The young infielder still needs to work on his consistency at the plate, but he's getting plenty of opportunities to do so as the primary first baseman for the Rockies down the stretch. Overall, he's posted a .254/.288/.429 slash line with four home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, eight doubles and one steal over 35 games.

  • Luis Arraez 1B | SD

Padres' Luis Arraez: Racks up three hits, steal in win

Arraez went 3-for-6 with two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 10-8 win over the Rockies.

Arraez knocked in the Padres' last two runs of the game in the fifth inning, which ended up being the difference in the game. The steal was his 10th of the season, establishing a career high, with five of those thefts coming over his last 19 games. In that span, he's batting .280 (21-for-75), which is right in line with his .287 average on the year. The infielder has added a .712 OPS, seven home runs, 54 RBI, 57 runs scored, 29 doubles and four triples over 136 contests as he continues to provide steady contact.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Goes deep in loss Friday

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Baltimore on Friday.

Freeman was the only Dodger with multiple knocks on a day when the team's struggling offense managed just five hits in total. The All-Star first baseman also accounted for Los Angeles' only run with his solo blast in the sixth inning. Freeman hasn't been immune to the Dodgers' struggles, as he's batting just .225 over his past 40 at-bats. However, he's knocked three homers, driven in five runs and recorded a 5:3 BB:K over that span.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Goes yard in four-hit effort

Guerrero went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Yankees.

The first baseman took former teammate Ryan Yarbrough deep in the fifth inning, as Guerrero homered for the second straight game and racked up multiple hits for the third straight. A minor hamstring strain in late August derailed him at the plate for a spell -- he went 1-for-22 over an eight-game skid that ended Aug. 30 -- but since then he's been locked in, going 11-for-21 over his last five contests with five RBI, nine runs and a 4:0 BB:K.

  • Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Moves to right field

Duran started in right field and went 3-for-5 in Friday's 4-3 win over the Astros.

Duran filled in for the injured Adolis Garcia (quadriceps) in right field. Since Garcia sustained the injury earlier this week, the Rangers have used Alejandro Osuna in right field against right-handers and Duran against a lefty. Duran's moved around the diamond for injured teammates the last few weeks; he's started games at first base, second base, shortstop and now right field.

  • Jake Burger 3B | TEX

Rangers' Jake Burger: Smashes 13th homer in win

Burger went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Friday in a 4-3 extra-innings win over the Astros.

The homer was Burger's 13th of the year to extend his hitting streak to five games. The infielder had a .658 OPS as of June 20, though he's performed far better at the plate since then as he tries to salvage a disappointing season. Since the start of July, Burger is batting .324 with six extra-base hits, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored over his last 71 plate appearances to increase his OPS to .703 for the campaign.

  • Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Notches first career steal

Bernabel went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-0 win over the Padres.

This was Bernabel's first steal in the majors, coming on his second attempt. The corner infielder had 22 steals in the lower levels of the minors in 2022 and notched 12 steals over 120 games at Double-A in 2024, but there's not a ton of speed in his profile. He's also struggled at the plate lately, going just 1-for-32 with two walks and 11 strikeouts over his last 10 games for the first extended slump of his young career. Overall, he's posted a .238/.273/.410 slash line with four home runs, 13 RBI, 14 runs scored, seven doubles and one triple over 128 plate appearances.

  • Alec Burleson LF | STL

Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Aiming to return for SEA series

Burleson (wrist) is slated to return from the 10-day injured list at some point during the Cardinals' three-game road series against the Mariners starting Monday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Burleson is rehabbing from right wrist inflammation that caused him to be placed on the 10-day IL in late August. He's increased his baseball activities over the past few days, and it appears the 26-year-old outfielder will not need a rehab assignment and join the Cardinals in Seattle early next week.

  • Luis Arraez 1B | SD

    Padres' Luis Arraez: Sitting Friday

Arraez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies.

Arraez will get the night off Friday after making six consecutive starts (four at first base, two at DH). Ryan O'Hearn will bat second and play first base, while Gavin Sheets bats cleanup at DH.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Mariners' Josh Naylor: Sitting against lefty

Naylor is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus Atlanta.

With lefty Chris Sale on the mound for Atlanta, Naylor is getting the night off from the starting lineup. Naylor has been scuffling at the plate over the past month, slashing just .247/.281/.400 in that span. Luke Raley is starting at first base and batting ninth.
