  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

    Diamondbacks' Josh Bell: Losing at-bats

Bell entered as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-1 in Saturday's 5-0 win over Milwaukee.

Bell stayed in the game to serve as the designated hitter but didn't get any more plate appearances. Saturday's appearance was his first since last Sunday. The September returns of Christian Walker, Ketel Marte and more recently, Lourdes Gurriel, give the Diamondbacks more lineup options, limiting Bell's opportunities. Bell, who had 112 plate appearances during the month of August over 26 games, has just 43 this month with seven games left in the regular season.

Mariners' Justin Turner: Leaves game with knee injury

Turner left Saturday's game against the Rangers in the sixth inning due to a knee injury, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Turner fouled a ball off his knee during his at-bat in the top of the sixth inning, and he'll finish the game having gone 2-for-4. Dylan Moore has shifted over to first base while Leo Rivas comes in at second.

On the season, he is hitting .267 with eight long balls, 33 RBI, 44 runs scored and two steals across 378 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Homers again in win

Aranda went 2-for-3 with two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.

The 26-year-old has hit safely in eight of his past 10 games while going deep four times. On the season, he is hitting .248 with five long balls, 11 RBI and 19 runs scored across 117 plate appearances.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Resting against lefty

Soderstrom isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

With left-hander Carlos Rodon set to start on the bump for New York, the lefty-hitting Soderstrom will stay put in Oakland's dugout to begin Saturday's contest. In his absence, Tyler Nevin will get the starting nod at first base and bat seventh.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Resting versus lefty

Rizzo isn't in the Yankees' lineup Saturday versus Oakland.

The lefty-hitting Rizzo will take a seat Saturday against the lefty-throwing JP Sears while Oswaldo Cabrera starts at first base and bats eighth.

Nationals' Joey Gallo: Blasts ninth home run

Gallo went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Cubs.

Gallo broke the game open with his homer off Keegan Thompson in the sixth inning. Gallo has five hits in the month of September, four of which have been home runs. With nine homers this season, Gallo is one away from extending his streak of 10 or more that dates back to 2017.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Reds' Ty France: Launches 13th homer

France went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Pirates.

France took Jared Jones deep in the third inning and snapped a streak of 14 games without a home run. After a hot stretch initially upon joining the Reds, France had hit a skid, slashing .200/.193/.255 with zero homers over his last 14 games. The 30-year-old has five of his 13 homers with Cincinnati to go along with a .746 OPS in 160 at-bats since joining his new team.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: On bench against LHP

Singleton is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels.

Singleton will dodge a same-side matchup with lefty Reid Detmers, yielding to Victor Caratini at first base. Singleton is slashing .238/.319/.392 on the year, and he's 8-for-22 (.364) in his last eight games.
