  • Justin Turner 1B | CHC

Mariners' Justin Turner: In Sunday's lineup

Turner (knee) will start at first base and bat fifth Sunday against the Rangers.

Turner fouled a ball off his knee Saturday and was forced to leave the game, but apparently it's not bad enough to cost him a start. As he approaches his 40th birthday in November, Turner's MLB future is uncertain, but he's shown signs of life with a .303/.398/.494 batting line and four homers in his last 26 games for Seattle.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Sitting for series finale

Walker is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Josh Bell will start at first base against right-hander Frankie Montas as Walker sits after going 1-for-13 across the first three games of the series. Walker was hot initially after coming off the injured list in early September, and he's still batting cleanup most days for Arizona.

  • Joey Gallo LF | CHW

Nationals' Joey Gallo: Taking seat against lefty

Gallo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Gallo will ride the pine with a lefty (Shota Imanaga) starting for the opposition, which is standard procedure whenever the Nationals face a southpaw. The 30-year-old Gallo has logged just 60 plate appearances against lefties this season, slashing .123/.167/.246.

  • Niko Kavadas 1B | LAA

Angels' Niko Kavadas: Absent from lineup versus righty

Kavadas is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Astros, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

The Astros are sending righty Spencer Arrighetti to the bump, but the left-handed-hitting Kavadas will nonetheless begin the contest on the bench. It's the first time since Sept. 1 that Kavadas will be absent from the lineup against a right-hander. Logan O'Hoppe is getting a start at designated hitter for the Angels while Matt Thaiss does the catching.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Out of Sunday's lineup

Schanuel is not in the lineup for Sunday's contest in Houston, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

It looks to be a routine day of rest for Schanuel, who had started each of the previous 12 games. Brandon Drury will occupy first base for the Angels in the series finale.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Sitting out Sunday

Singleton is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The Astros will go with Yainer Diaz at first base and Victor Caratini at catcher as they try to close out a four-game sweep of the Angels. Singleton has been out of the lineup for three straight contests, although Sunday marks the first of those three games in which Houston has faced a right-handed starting pitcher.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Not in Tampa Bay lineup

Diaz is absent from the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Blue Jays.

Brandon Lowe is getting a start in the designated-hitter spot in this one, while Jonathan Aranda will cover first base. Diaz's playing time has slipped a bit this month, as this is the sixth time he's been out of the Rays' lineup.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | CHC

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Provides offense Saturday

Wisdom went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Nationals.

Wisdom provided all of his team's offense and snapped MacKenzie Gore's no-hit bid in the loss, which eliminated the Cubs from playoff contention. The 33-year-old has mostly served in a reserve role, but with Chicago eliminated, he may see an uptick in playing time during the final few games of the regular season. Wisdom offers some pop, though he is batting only .186 this season and is mostly off the fantasy radar.

  • Josh Bell DH | WAS

    Diamondbacks' Josh Bell: Losing at-bats

Bell entered as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-1 in Saturday's 5-0 win over Milwaukee.

Bell stayed in the game to serve as the designated hitter but didn't get any more plate appearances. Saturday's appearance was his first since last Sunday. The September returns of Christian Walker, Ketel Marte and more recently, Lourdes Gurriel, give the Diamondbacks more lineup options, limiting Bell's opportunities. Bell, who had 112 plate appearances during the month of August over 26 games, has just 43 this month with seven games left in the regular season.

  • Justin Turner 1B | CHC

Mariners' Justin Turner: Leaves game with knee injury

Turner left Saturday's game against the Rangers in the sixth inning due to a knee injury, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Turner fouled a ball off his knee during his at-bat in the top of the sixth inning, and he'll finish the game having gone 2-for-4. Dylan Moore has shifted over to first base while Leo Rivas comes in at second.
