Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Angels' Kole Calhoun: Cranks three-run homer in loss
Calhoun went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the White Sox.
Calhoun broke out of his lengthy power drought, delivering his first long ball since Aug. 26. The big day at the plate should pique fantasy owners' interest, but the veteran outfielder was already trending upwards -- literally -- since being moved into the leadoff spot Sunday. The Halos are one of a handful of teams who have four games left on the schedule, giving Calhoun a slight edge over similar assets who may have Thursday off.

Josh Bell DH | MIN
Pirates' Josh Bell: Pops 25th homer Wednesday
Bell went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Orioles.
He now has 25 homers on the year, leaving Bell one shy of Jason Bay's franchise rookie record. The young switch hitter has faded a bit down the stretch in his first full big-league campaign, but he'll still head into 2018 as a key piece of the Pirates' offense.

Dominic Smith DH | ATL
Mets' Dominic Smith: Out of lineup Wednesday
Smith is not in the lineup against the Braves on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Smith will head to the bench after going 0-for-3 with a walk during Tuesday's affair, in favor of Kevin Plawecki, who will man first base during the series finale. Over the last 10 games, Smith is hitting just .086/.135/.086 with three singles and 14 strikeouts.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Angels' Kole Calhoun: Continues to bat leadoff
Calhoun led off and went 0-for-3 with a pair of walks and a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the White Sox.
Manager Mike Scioscia shuffled his lineup three days ago, placing the struggling outfielder atop the batting order. Calhoun has benefited from the change, reaching base five times and scoring three runs over those three contests. Batting in front of Mike Trout is always a boost to any hitter's confidence, making the 29-year-old a solid source of runs as the season comes to a close.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Cubs' Anthony Rizzo: Goes 0-for-4 on Tuesday
Rizzo went 0-for-4 with a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals.
Rizzo has been scuffling a bit lately, as he has just one hit in his last 15 at-bats and he's hitting just .241 this month. Rizzo is too talented to stay in a slump for long.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Goes deep twice Tuesday
Abreu went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.
Abreu was the lone bright spot in an otherwise quiet offensive night for the White Sox. The 30-year-old posted his fifth multi-homer game of the season and the 11th of his career. With a career-high 185 hits this season, the slugging first baseman is on pace to close out the campaign with a .300-plus average for the first time since his dominant 2014 season. He currently holds a gaudy .307/.358/.561 slashline with 33 long balls and 102 RBI.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: In Tuesday's lineup
Abreu (shin) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Abreu sat out the last two games and underwent an MRI on his sore shin, but the results of the exam did not reveal any sort of long-term injury, and he is ready to get back in the lineup Tuesday. He will man first base and hit third against Angels starter Parker Bridwell.

Carlos Santana 1B | ATL
Indians' Carlos Santana: Returns to action
Santana (shoulder) is starting at first base and batting sixth Tuesday against the Twins.
Santana sat out Sunday with a shoulder injury, but the Indians never thought the issue was anything overly serious, and he's back in the lineup after the team's off day Monday. He'll face Bartolo Colon in his return to action.

Luke Voit 1B | NYM
Cardinals' Luke Voit: Smacks pinch-hit blast in loss
Voit blasted a solo home run in a pinch-hit at-bat during Monday's 10-2 loss to the Cubs.
The rookie hasn't drawn a start since Aug. 30, and his seventh-inning solo blast was his first round tripper since July 9. The 25-year-old has acquitted himself reasonably well in his first regular-season exposure to big-league arms, slashing .250/.308/.444 with four homers and 18 RBI over 117 plate appearances, although his 25.6 percent strikeout rate leaves plenty of room for improvement. Voit will look to make an impression in spring training next year and build on the experience he gained this season.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Done for season with hamstring strain
Olson has a Grade 2 hamstring strain and will miss the rest of the season, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Olson hit 24 home runs in just 59 games this season to establish himself as Oakland's first baseman of the future. Expect him to be healthy and good to go for spring training.
