Cron went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple, a walk and a run in a win over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Cron's first three-bagger of the campaign brought home Matt Duffy to extend the Rays' lead to 8-1 in the fourth. The 28-year-old is hitting just .222 in September despite Wednesday's production, but a career-high 27 home runs has helped him establish a new high-water mark in slugging percentage (.485). Moreover, he's now just five RBI away from eclipsing the career-best 69 he compiled in 2016.

Shaw started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Padres.

Shaw made his fourth consecutive start, and second against a southpaw. The Giants are finally giving their young slugger a consistent look in left field after benching him in nine of the 14 games since his callup Aug. 31. Shaw is still slashing just .229/.300/.371 over 40 plate appearances in the majors, but his strong power output in the minors (24 homers and .505 slugging percentage) could generate some cheap pop in daily and deep formats.

Walker went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a strikeout in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.

Walker got the scoring started early, taking starter Cole Hamels deep in the first inning for his third home run of the year. The 27-year-old is slashing just .178/.229/.422 and doesn't have a clear path to consistent at-bats.

Voit went 4-for-4 with a two homers, four runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.

Voit took David Price deep twice in this one, knocking a solo shot in the fourth inning before adding a two-run homer in the sixth frame. He added a pair of singles in the second and eighth innings, coming around to score both times as the Yankees cruised to a 10-1 victory. The 27-year-old has played his way into a starting role since joining the Yankees, slashing .323/.400/.634 with nine homers and 20 RBI through 29 games with New York.

Hoskins went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer in Wednesday's win over the Mets.

Hoskins took Noah Syndergaard deep in the first inning to put the Phillies up 1-0, marking his fifth homer of the month and 32nd of the season. The 25-year-old slugger is now slashing .250/.357/.503 with five stolen bases and 92 RBI through 142 games this season.

Freeman went 3-for-3 with a walk, a homer, a stolen base and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Cardinals.

Freeman put the Braves up 2-0 with his two-run shot off Jack Flaherty in the fourth inning, marking his 23rd homer of the season. He added an RBI single and a stolen base in the fifth frame. Freeman's 10 stolen bases are a career-high, though he's five homers shy of his 2017 total despite having played 35 more games. The first baseman is now hitting .324/.377/.515 through 18 games this month.

Calhoun is not in the lineup Wednesday against the A's.

Calhoun has started all but one game for the Angels in September, slashing just .107/.261/.214 with two homers and six RBI over that 15-game stretch. He'll sit Wednesday in favor of Jabari Blash, who is starting in right field and hitting seventh.

Abreu (infection) was released from the hospital Wednesday but remains unavailable, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Abreu had been in the hospital since Monday while being treated for an infection on his thigh. He'll remain unavailable for the duration of the series against Cleveland but could return Friday against the Cubs.

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Manager Torey Lovullo appears to be waving the white flag on his team's season, as he has elected to rest most of Arizona's regulars for the series finale versus Chicago. In Goldschmidt's place, Christian Walker will start at first base.

Flores was sent back to New York to get both knees examined after experiencing bilateral knee pain in recent days, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.

Flores hasn't started a game since Sept. 13 which is likely a result of the lingering pain in both of his knees. After the Mets finish up their series in Philadelphia on Thursday, they will begin a three-game set versus the Nationals in Washington, so it's unlikely that Flores returns to action this weekend. There's a good chance the club will elect to shut him down for the rest of the season prior to its final homestand starting Tuesday, but more should be known following the results of his tests.
