  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Mashes sixth homer in win

Guerrero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Padres.

Guerrero clobbered his sixth homer of the season, and he's now logged at least one hit in 17 of his last 19 games. During this period, the All-Star first baseman is batting .314 (22-for-70) with four homers, two doubles, nine RBI and 17 runs scored. Guerrero has also drawn 14 walks during this span.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Smacks another home run

Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Washington.

Olson put Atlanta on the board in the second inning when he took Mitchell Parker deep to center field for a solo homer. Olson has recorded at least one RBI in each of his last four games, going 8-for-16 with three home runs and five RBI over that span. He has slashed .250/.315/.531 across 73 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

  • Austin Shenton 1B | SEA

Mariners' Austin Shenton: Pushed off 40-man roster

The Mariners designated Shenton for assignment Tuesday.

Shenton has been at Triple-A all season, slashing .207/.284/.413 with eight homers, 26 RBI and 23 runs scored across 169 plate appearances. He'll give up his spot on the 40-man roster for Casey Lawrence, who was selected to the active roster Tuesday.

  • Giants' Casey Schmitt: Logs double in return

Schmitt (oblique) started at first base and went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Royals.

Schmitt was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday after missing the past month due to a Grade 2 left oblique strain. The 26-year-old infielder knocked a double down the left-field line in the seventh inning, marking his third two-bagger of the season. Schmitt is now slashing .200/.259/.320 with two RBI, one run scored and a 1:9 BB:K across 27 plate appearances.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Three extra-base hits in win

Schanuel went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles and two total runs scored in Monday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.

This was an unusual display of power for the contact-hitting first baseman, and he played a big role in the Angels' win. Schanuel went deep in the first inning and came around to score again on a Taylor Ward homer in the third. Over his last 14 games, Schanuel has logged seven multi-hit efforts, going 19-for-51 (.373) in that span. He's up to three homers, 14 RBI, 25 runs scored, nine doubles, one stolen base and a .277/.365/.406 slash line over 44 contests this season.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Lifts eighth homer

Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 3-1 win over the Giants.

Neither team could score over seven innings from starters Kris Bubic and Robbie Ray, but Pasquantino took advantage once the Giants went to their bullpen. He went deep against Tyler Rogers in the eighth inning to open the scoring. Pasquantino has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 8-for-28 (.286) with two homers and four RBI in that span. For the season, the first baseman is up to a .228/.272/.392 slash line with eight homers, 28 RBI, 17 runs scored and five stolen bases across 48 contests. He's had a strong May at the plate as he works to overcome a slow start in 2025.

  • David Villar 1B | SF

Giants' David Villar: Ejected from 40-man roster

The Giants designated Villar for assignment Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The move frees a spot on the active roster for the return of Casey Schmitt (oblique) from the 10-day injured list. Villar has been outrighted off the 40-man roster previously, so if he clears waivers again, he would have the ability to elect free agency.

  • Giants' Casey Schmitt: Activated, starting at first base

The Giants activated Schmitt (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Schmitt will start at first base and bat sixth Monday against the Royals. He missed the past month with a Grade 2 left oblique strain. Schmitt is capable of playing all four infield spots and will likely serve as a short-side platoon player for the Giants now that he's healthy again.

  • Brandon Drury 1B | CHW

Brandon Drury: Cut loose by Chicago

The White Sox released Drury (wrist) on Thursday.

While attending spring training with Chicago as a non-roster invitee, Drury was building a strong case for an Opening Day role with the big club before fracturing his left thumb late in camp. After getting released, Drury re-signed with the White Sox on a minor-league deal April 8, then was cleared to return to game action with Triple-A Charlotte a week later. He struggled to a .179/.319/.282 slash line at Triple-A before being placed on Charlotte's 7-day injured list May 8 after getting hit on the wrist by a pitch just over two weeks earlier. The White Sox haven't shed light on the severity of the injury, but Drury's release perhaps suggests that his return to the Triple-A lineup wasn't imminent.

  • Jared Triolo 3B | PIT

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Back in platoon role

Triolo will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Reds.

Though he'll be included in the lineup Monday with southpaw Nick Lodolo taking the hill for Cincinnati, the right-handed-hitting Triolo no longer looks to be in the mix for regular playing time versus righties. He was on the bench for both of the Pirates' previous two matchups with right-handers, with the recent return of Isiah Kiner-Falefa having closed off Triolo's path to an everyday role in the Pittsburgh infield.
