Hoskins is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Hoskins underwent elbow surgery back in October, but he's handled a fairly typical starter's workload thus far this season. Tuesday's off day will be just his second time on the bench in the first 17 games of the season. Brad Miller will take over at first base in his absence.

France (forearm) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

France exited Monday's game after getting hit in the right forearm by a pitch. He went through infield drills prior to the game, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports, so it's unlikely he's in line for a long absence, but he'll find himself on the bench for at least one game. The Mariners get an off day Wednesday, so he'll get to rest for at least two days before potentially returning to the lineup Thursday in Boston.

Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 12-5 win over the Nationals.

He launched a solo shot off Joe Ross in the third inning -- one of five Cards homers on the night -- and also chipped in an RBI single in the eighth. Goldschmidt has three multi-hit performances and both his home runs on the year over the last six games, pushing his slash line up to .266/.309/.391.

France left Monday's game against the Dodgers due to a right forearm contusion, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

France was drilled by a fastball Monday evening but managed to avoid a serious injury. His X-rays came back negative, per Drayer. France will be considered day-to-day moving forward.

France was hit by a 98 mph fastball in the bottom of the fifth inning, and while he was able to stay in the game to run the bases, he was pulled after he couldn't make throws from second base in the top of the sixth. There's a good chance France is headed for X-rays as a precaution, per Divish.

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Vaughn will once again be on the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Nathan Eovaldi), opening up left field for Leury Garcia. The rookie had picked up starts in four of the White Sox's previous five games, so his playing time at least appears to be trending upward after he had been deployed in more of a part-time role in the first two weeks of the season.

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two walks, two runs and two RBI on Sunday in Atlanta's 13-4 win over the Cubs.

For the fourth straight game, Freeman drew exactly two free passes, but his contributions in the power department had been missing over the past week until he took Kyle Hendricks deep in the first inning. Freeman's fifth home run of the season was one of four in the top of the first for Atlanta, the first time the club had achieved that in the opening frame since May 2003.

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Dodgers.

Cronenworth's first home run of the season came off Trevor Bauer in the fourth inning. Despite batting .313, Cronenworth only has four RBI. He has nine runs scored and six multi-hit games to his name. The 27-year-old should be in for a solid season with the Padres should he continue to bat over .300.

Rizzo went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 13-4 loss to Atlanta.

Atlanta jumped on Chicago with four home runs in the first inning and ran away with the game, but Rizzo was able to respond with a little power of his own, taking Bryse Wilson deep twice in the first three innings. The first baseman is up to three home runs this season and has been locked in lately, as he's riding a five-game hitting streak. Three of the five games have been multi-hit performances, helping Rizzo push his batting average up to .250.

France went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, an additional run and a walk in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Astros.

Fresh off a walk-off hit Friday, France took Brooks Raley deep in the fifth inning. The 26-year-old is batting .305 and leads the Mariners with a .400 OBP. He has recorded at least one hit in 12 of his 16 games. However, Sunday was only his second game where he didn't strike out in any of his plate appearances.
