Votto exited Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to a left thumb injury, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Votto was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the fourth inning, and he appeared to be favoring his thumb afterward until he was replaced by Kyle Farmer at first base to begin the sixth inning. The Reds have a scheduled day off Thursday, but it's not yet clear whether Votto will be back in the lineup for Friday's series opener in Cleveland.

Cron isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Cron will get a breather after he went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, a walk and a strikeout in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Matt Adams will start at first base and bat sixth.

Walker went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Marlins.

Walker came off the injured list Tuesday and slotted in at the three-hole in the order while playing first base. This was his first game since April 11.

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-0 rout of the Reds.

After going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in the first game of the twin bill, Cron came back and cranked a game-tying homer against Alex Wood in the second tilt. The 31-year-old also tacked on a two-out single in the seventh inning, positioning Charlie Blackmon for a walkoff home run. Cron now has five home runs on the season while batting .290/.389/.495.

Flores went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, a walk and two runs scored during Tuesday's loss at Colorado.

Flores tacked on a pair of insurance runs for the Giants with his long ball against Mychal Givens in the sixth inning. However, the Rockies put together a seventh-inning rally for the win. Flores, who now has two long balls this season, was making his fourth straight start due to infielder Tommy La Stella's (hamstring) recent move to the injured list.

Cabrera went 3-for-5 with a double in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Marlins.

The veteran infielder continues to give Arizona a solid bat at the top of the order. Over the last 12 games, Cabrera has hit .342 (13-for-38), but a lack of support around him in the lineup has left him with only three RBI and seven runs over that stretch.

Kirillof (wrist) is scheduled to visit a hand and wrist specialist Wednesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old suffered a right wrist injury sliding into second base Monday and was held out of Tuesday's starting nine. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but the fact that he's visiting a specialist so quickly is an ominous sign. Kirilloff is unlikely to be available Wednesday while being evaluated, and it should be known shortly whether a trip to the injured list is necessary.

Kirilloff is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers due to wrist soreness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old was originally slated to start Tuesday, but he was scratched due to the wrist issue. Kirilloff should be considered day-to-day while he continues to be evaluated.

Kirilloff is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Rangers.

He is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, hitting .321 with four home runs over that stretch. However, his 33.3 percent strikeout rate and 3.3 percent walk rate over this hot streak are worth keeping an eye on. Willians Astudillo will start at first base and hit eighth.
