Josh Bell DH | MIN
Pirates' Josh Bell: Receives Sunday off
Bell is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Bell started the last 11 games and has a .999 OPS with three homers in that stretch, but he'll take the day off Sunday. Jose Osuna will start at first base and bat fifth in his absence.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Heads to bench
Walker is not starting Sunday against the Reds.
Walker owns a strong .308/.379/.519 line over his last 14 games. Jake Lamb starts at first base in his place Sunday.

Matt Beaty 1B | KC
Dodgers' Matt Beaty: Sitting versus RHP
Beaty is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.
He has been starting against righties, but Beaty will sit against right-hander Tyler Beede as Cody Bellinger moves to first base and Enrique Hernandez mans center. Beaty got off to a great start and still has an .817 OPS, but he is batting .179 in his last nine games.

Dominic Smith 1B | ATL
Mets' Dominic Smith: Shifts to 60-day IL
Smith (foot) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
As a result of this move, Smith is not eligible to return until Sept. 25. He was cleared for some baseball activities in late August but is far from a lock to play during that final week of the regular season.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Diamondbacks' Wilmer Flores: Starts against right-hander
Flores went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Friday's 7-5 win over the Reds.
For the second consecutive game, Flores was in the lineup against a right-handed starter, a departure from manager Torey Lovullo's established pattern of starting him against left-handers only. While most of his power has come against lefties this season, Flores has a respectable .299 batting average against righties. It looks like Lovullo will use Flores over Jake Lamb for the time being as the Diamondbacks chase down a playoff spot.

Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL
Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Sitting Friday
Cooper is not in Friday's lineup against the Royals.
He is hitting .243 with two home runs over his last 10 games. Neil Walker is starting at first base and hitting cleanup.
-
Asdrubal Cabrera 1B | CIN
Nationals' Asdrubal Cabrera: Sits against lefty
Cabrera is not in Friday's lineup against the Braves.
He had started three straight games before sitting for a second game in a row. Both of his off days have come against southpaws, so it seems like Cabrera is occupying the strong side of a second base platoon. Howie Kendrick will start at the keystone and hit second.
-
Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Stays hot in win
Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with an RBI infield single, a walk and two runs in a win over the Giants on Thursday.
Goldschmidt turned in a solid performance from the third spot in the order, churning out his second straight multi-hit effort in the process. The veteran has yet to leave the yard over the first five games of September, but he's quickly compiled six RBI with the help of a pair of doubles and a triple.

Asdrubal Cabrera 1B | CIN
Nationals' Asdrubal Cabrera: Heads to bench
Cabrera is not in the lineup Thursday against the Braves.
Cabrera will head to the bench for Thursday's series opener after starting the past three games at the keystone and going 4-for-12 with a double, a home run and four RBI. Brian Dozier is starting at second base in his place in this one.

Joey Votto 1B | TOR
Reds' Joey Votto: Out of Thursday's lineup
Votto is not in Thursday's lineup against the Phillies.
He is hitting .263 with two home runs in 10 games since coming off the injured list. Josh VanMeter will start at first base and hit eighth.
