LuJames Groover 1B | ARI
Diamondbacks' LuJames Groover: Clubs first big-league homer
Groover went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks and a second run scored in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals.
Groover went deep in the fourth inning for his first big-league homer. This is also his first multi-RBI performance in 13 contests in the majors. The infielder has hit .186 with a .588 OPS, four RBI, four runs scored, two doubles and a 5:8 BB:K since his June 5 debut. He is currently occupying a part-time role, though he should continue to play regularly versus left-handed pitchers while in the majors.

Spencer Steer 1B | CIN
Reds' Spencer Steer: Goes deep in loss
Steer went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers.
Steer made things interesting in the eighth inning, putting the Reds within one run with a two-run blast off Craig Yoho. While the 28-year-old slugger has gone just 10-for-68 in June, six of those hits have been home runs, including three in his past seven games. On the year, Steer is slashing .240/.319/.434 with 13 homers, 33 RBI, 45 runs scored and three steals across 301 plate appearances.

Jake Bauers 1B | MIL
Brewers' Jake Bauers: Goes deep in win
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Reds.
Bauers launched a solo shot in the third inning and later scored what proved to be the game-winning run in the seventh. While the 30-year-old is hitting a modest .246 through 20 June contests, he's still made an impact with eight extra-base hits, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored during the month. On the year, he's slashing .271/.377/.508 with 14 homers, 48 RBI, 45 runs scored and five steals across 276 plate appearances.

Michael Busch 1B | CHC
Cubs' Michael Busch: Up-and-down doubleheader effort
Busch went 1-for-8 with a walk and a two-run home run across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets.
Busch started the day by going 1-for-3 with his ninth home run of the season, but he couldn't sustain the effort in the nightcap, when we went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts. It's kind of a microcosm of the first baseman's year, as he's shown signs of breaking out but has yet to truly match his production from last year. Busch's OPS is currently down exactly 100 points from the .866 mark he posted during the 2025 regular season.

Spencer Horwitz 1B | PIT
Pirates' Spencer Horwitz: Exits with hamstring injury
Horwitz was removed from Wednesday's game against the Mariners with left hamstring discomfort.
Horwitz went 0-for-1 with a walk before being lifted in favor of a pinch hitter in the fourth inning. The Pirates are still in the process of evaluating the 28-year-old, but there could be an update on his status after the game.

Alec Burleson 1B | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: On bench against lefty
Burleson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
The left-handed-hitting Burleson started against Arizona lefty Eduardo Rodriguez in Tuesday's 4-3 loss, but the first baseman will retreat to the bench Wednesday while the Diamondbacks send a second straight lefty (Mitch Bratt) to the bump. Blaze Jordan will take Burleson's spot in the field and will bat eighth.

Jared Young 1B | NYM
Mets' Jared Young: Idle for nightcap
Young is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cubs.
With lefty Shota Imanaga taking the hill for Chicago in the second game of the day, the left-handed-hitting Young will cede first base to Mark Vientos. Young went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in the Mets' 10-3 loss in the first game of the day.

Curtis Mead 3B | WAS
Nationals' Curtis Mead: Receiving night off
Mead is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Mead will be handed a night off after he went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in Tuesday's 14-9 loss. Jorbit Vivas will step in at the hot corner in place of Mead, who had started each of the last four contests.

Carlos Santana 1B | ATL
Diamondbacks' Carlos Santana: Activated, loses roster spot
The Diamondbacks reinstated Santana (adductor) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday and designated him for assignment.
Santana began the season in an everyday role at first base, but he produced a dreadful .083/.154/.125 slash line and struck out in eight of his 26 plate appearances over eight games before hitting the shelf April 7 due to a right adductor strain. After suffering a setback in May while out on a rehab assignment, Santana returned to action in the minors earlier this month but continued to struggle over eight games, batting .130 with a 3:7 BB:K. With Pavin Smith, LuJames Groover and Ildemaro Vargas all available on the big-league roster as options at first base, the Diamondbacks no longer had room for Santana. Assuming that the 40-year-old isn't claimed off waivers by another team, the Diamondbacks are likely to grant him his release.
