Abreu went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and two walks in Saturday's 7-3 victory over the Indians.

The veteran slugger has gotten the season off to a fine start, slashing a .333/.423/.667 line over the first six games. Abreu has gone yard in two of the last three contests, and has at least one hit in five of the White Sox's six games so far this season. While strikeouts are an indelible part of his game, Abreu's bat has the potential to reward fantasy owners every time he steps into the batter's box.

Cron is out of Friday's lineup against the Rangers.

He started the year 2-for-11 at the plate, and will start Friday's game on the bench in favor of Ji-Man Choi. Provided Cron's bat comes around to even league average, he should be the Angels' primary first baseman this season.

Colabello is out of Friday's lineup against the Red Sox, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports.

The Blue Jays are getting Josh Donaldson in the lineup at DH, meaning Edwin Encarnacion must shift to first base, leaving Colabello without a place to play. He has just one hit with five strikeouts through three games, as the anticipated regression from last year's surprising numbers has taken place immediately.

Calhoun had a hit and a walk in four appearances at the plate Thursday against the Rangers.

Coming off a hitless outing against the Cubs, Calhoun played an important part in the Angels' victory Thursday by getting on base twice and scoring one of the team's four runs. After proving to be a valuable part of the outfield by winning a Gold Glove last season, Calhoun has the opportunity to become an even more important piece of the lineup by elevating his production at the plate. Thus far, he has gone 1-for-3 in two games.

Abreu went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's win over the Athletics.

Abreu's two-run homer off Kendall Graveman in the sixth inning broke up a scoreless pitching duel and led to a series victory for the White Sox. After being held mostly in check during the White Sox first three games, with no RBIs and five strikeouts, Abreu finally flashed the form that's made him one of the game's premier hitters, lashing a 91 mph sinker just over the scoreboard in right field. He notched a third RBI with a sacrifice fly in the ninth, MLB.com reports.

Amador hit .346/.436/.742 with 41 home runs and 117 RBI over 103 games with Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican League last season.

Amador, who was a dark-horse for the Astros' Opening Day first base job in 2014, posted a ridiculous 1.177 OPS against Mexican League pitching last year, but there haven't been any reports that he'll return to the states in 2016.

Colabello is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rays, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.

Colabello has gotten off to a rocky start, going 0-for-7 with four strikeouts over the first two games, so a day off might not be the worst thing for the 32-year-old. Justin Smoak will draw the start at first base in his stead and bat sixth.

Singleton was optioned to minor league camp Monday.

Singleton struggled mightily this spring, hitting just .151 with 17 strikeouts and only three walks over 56 Grapefruit League plate appearances. He'll open 2016 with Triple-A Fresno, where he hit .254/.359/.505 with 22 home runs and 83 RBI over 102 games last year. Singleton's demotion means Tyler White has likely won the Astros' first base competition.

Parmelee (arm) was reassigned to minor league camp Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Parmelee had a shortened stint at the Yankees' major league camp after undergoing surgery to repair a broken arm in September. Still, he managed to get 29-at bats there this spring, although he had mixed results. Parmelee had three doubles and only struck out five times, but he otherwise struggled at the plate with a .172 batting average and .226 OBP. He'll head down to minor league camp to get more regular playing time.

Walker was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Rich Dubroff of CSN Mid Atlantic reports.

Manager Buck Showalter was complimentary of Walker's spring training performance, but the roster needed to be trimmed down with Opening Day approaching. Walker belted four home runs and drove in 14 runs in his 42 spring training at-bats before being sent down. Dubroff reports that Walker will be the every day left fielder at Norfolk. That said, the Orioles will be trying to get by with an inexperienced Hyun-soo Kim and an injury prone Nolan Reimold in left this season, so Walker could be a prime candidate for a call-up if either of those players struggle or get injured.
