Calhoun (personal) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers.

He was away from the team Monday to be with his wife as they were expecting the birth of their child, and he is apparantly still away to be with his family Tuesday. With expanded rosters, the Angels don't need to designate Calhoun as being on the paternity list, but he should be back in a day or two. Rafael Ortega is starting in right field and hitting sixth Tuesday.

Calhoun is away from the team Monday, as he and his wife are expecting their first child.

The Angels are unlikely to place Calhoun on the paternity list this late in the season, but the outfielder will miss at least one game and perhaps more. Shane Robinson will get the starting nod in right field in Calhoun's place Monday, and he'll bat ninth in the order against the Rangers' Martin Perez.

Solano's contract was selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

Solano had a good performance with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, where he hit .319/.349/.436 over 131 games. Solano will provide depth around the infield for the Yankees and could even steal a few starts with the potentially season-ending injury to Starlin Castro. Solano has spent time at second and third base, as well as shortstop over the course of his career in the majors.

Santana went 2-for-5 with a two-run single in Friday's 11-4 victory over the Tigers.

The slugging leadoff man extended the Indians' early lead to 4-1 with a single in the second that brought home Tyler Naquin and Abraham Almonte. Santana has now hit safely in six of his last seven games with five RBI over that span.

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a walk in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Indians.

Abreu has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball of late, as this was his 10th homer in the past 25 games. It was probably the most special of the bunch, though, as the Cuban slugger had promised a young cancer patient pre-game that he'd hit one out of the park for him. With 24 home runs and 95 RBI on the season, Abreu is just six and five, respectively, shy of becoming the second player in major-league history after Albert Pujols to reach 30 homers and 100 RBI in each of their first three seasons.

Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Rangers on Wednesday.

The rookie's now hitting .338 over his first 21 games in the majors, and after displaying little pop at first, he's starting to deliver more and more extra-base hits -- including hitting all three of his homers over the last eight games. Gurriel appears locked into a spot in the Astros' batting order, and in addition to his fine hitting, he offers helpful positional eligibility in leagues with loose requirements.

Olson was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With the Sounds having been eliminated from the Pacific Coast League playoffs, Olson will finally get the opportunity to make his major league debut. The Athletics are making an effort to look at their younger players during this last month of the season, so there's a decent chance the 22-year-old could find a decent amount of playing time down the stretch. He doesn't hit for very high average, but Olson could provide cheap power for fantasy owners if his numbers in the minors (17 home runs and 34 doubles at Triple-A this season) translate to the big leagues.

Colabello, who spent the entire second half in the minors following a suspension, slashed a disappointing .185/.254/.293 in 157 at-bats with Triple-A Buffalo.

Colabello's dismal performance in the International League added to the embarrassment of being suspended after testing positive for performance enhancers early in the MLB season. There were high hopes for the first baseman after a career year in 2015, and he was set to play the heavy side of a platoon with Justin Smoak when camp broke in April. Colabello wound up playing in just 10 games for the Jays, going a pathetic 2-for-29 (.069) with nine strikeouts in April. Where Colabello goes from here remains to be seen, but the team hasn't said much to indicate interest in rekindling the relationship this winter.

Santana went 2-for-4 with a walk and a two-run homer in Thursday's game against the Astros.

With his home run, Santana joined teammate Mike Napoli in the 30 Home Run Club this season -- the first time two Indians have done so since 2002 (Jim Thome and Ellis Burkes). It's the first time in Santana's seven-year career that he's hammered 30 longballs. Although he has just five hits in 21 at-bats through early September, he's compensated by walking 11 times, tallying five RBI and scoring six runs over seven games. The switch-hitting DH has also homered in three of his last seven starts.

Cron went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in a loss to the A's on Wednesday.

Cron's blast in the seventh inning was the only run the Angels could muster against starter Jharel Cotton, who pitched 6.1 innings in his major league debut. Cron has homered five times in his last 10 games, bringing his slugging percentage to .498 this season.
