C.J. Cron 1B | BOS
Rays' C.J. Cron: Clubs 23rd homer
Cron went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Red Sox.
His sixth-inning blast off David Price spoiled a potential shutout bid but otherwise didn't affect the outcome. It was Cron's 23rd homer of the year but his first in August, and the slugger has a sluggish .191/.264/.426 slash line in 15 games since the All-Star break.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Walks it off against Astros
Olson went 2-for-5 with a walk-off solo home run in a 4-3 extra-inning victory over Houston on Friday.
Oakland was locked in a 3-3 deadlock with their division rivals in the 10th inning of this contest, but Olson sent everyone home with a laser blast over the wall off Tony Sipp. It was the continuation of what has been a breakout campaign at the dish for the 24-year-old, who has lashed 23 long balls and posted a .240/.327/.448 slash line through 446 at-bats this season.

Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT
Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Not in Friday's lineup
O'Hearn is out of the Friday's lineup versus the White Sox.
Salvador Perez will handle designated hitting duties while Drew Butera draws a start behind the dish for the series opener in Chicago. Following four straight starts with the Royals after his promotion in late July, O'Hearn has only started four of the past 12 games.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Angels' Kole Calhoun: Bops 17th homer
Calhoun went 3-for-4 with a home run and a pair of runs scored in Thursday's 8-6 loss to Texas.
Calhoun recorded his second three-hit contest over the last four games, contributing his 17th long ball in the process. The 30-year-old continues his second-half surge, slashing .321/.409/.607 with four homers in 56 August at-bats.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Pair of hits in defeat
Olson went 2-for-5 with a double in an extra-innings loss to the Mariners on Wednesday.
Olson's modest hot streak continued Wednesday, with his production vaulting his tally to 6-for-15 with three doubles, two RBI, a walk and a run over the last four games. The 24-year-old has improved on a lackluster July over the first half of August, as he's now hitting .267 during the current month and is just one double short of the six he compiled over 25 July games.

Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN
Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Tallies four hits for High-A club
Kirilloff went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles Wednesday in High-A Fort Myers' 3-2 win over Charlotte.
The outfielder extended his hit streak to 13 games with his fourth four-hit performance of the season. The 20-year-old hasn't shown much over-the-fence power (four homers in 209 plate appearances) since moving up to the Florida State League, but he has still maintained a solid .188 ISO thanks to his ample doubles output.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Busts out of slump
Gurriel went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in Wednesday's 12-1 win over Colorado.
Gurriel was one of many bats in the Houston lineup to break out of a fallow period. He was on a 4-for-26 skid with no RBI over the past eight games before Wednesday. The homer was merely his seventh in 100 games, and it snapped a 28-game streak without a one.
-
Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Chasing MLB history
Abreu went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Tigers.
Abreu's two-run bomb in the fifth inning provided the White Sox the cushion they would need to hold onto their fifth win in the last six road games. He now has 21 homers and 73 RBI with a shot to join an exclusive club in MLB history. He needs four homers and 27 RBI over the final 42 games to join Albert Pujols and Joe DiMaggio as the only major leaguers with at least 25 home runs and 100 RBI in five straight seasons to start their respective careers.

Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT
Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Out of Wednesday's lineup
O'Hearn is not in the lineup against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Maria Torres of the Kansas City Star reports.
O'Hearn will remain on the bench for a second straight game as Whit Merrifield receives a mini-breather as the club's designated hitter. Since joining the club in late July, O'Hearn has hit .160/.300/.400 with two home runs and six RBI in eight games.

C.J. Cron 1B | BOS
Rays' C.J. Cron: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Cron is out of the lineup versus the Yankees on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.
Cron will take a seat after going 1-for-4 during Tuesday's series opener. Ji-Man Choi will serve as the club's DH while Jake Bauers starts at first base Wednesday.
