Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Return from IL uncertain
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that the team is "taking it day-to-day" in terms of when or if Aranda (wrist) will be activated from the 10-day injured list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Aranda has been playing in backfield games at the Rays' spring training complex in Florida and appears ready to return from a fractured left wrist that's kept him sidelined since late July. However, it does not seem to be a slam dunk that he'll rejoin the active roster, as the Rays are weighing the benefit of a late-season return for Aranda, as well as who he would replace on the roster.

Rowdy Tellez 1B | TEX
Rangers' Rowdy Tellez: Regular run against righties
Tellez will start at first base and bat cleanup in Thursday's contest versus the Twins.
It's his fourth start over the last five games against right-handed pitching, as Tellez has overtaken Jake Burger as the Rangers' primary first baseman. Tellez has a .915 OPS with one home run over his last nine tilts.

Nate Lowe 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: Bounces back Tuesday
Lowe went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays.
Lowe singled in Boston's first two runs and extended a hit streak to six games. It was a nice bounce-back effort for Lowe, who had struck out twice with the bases loaded and left five runners in scoring position during Sunday's loss to the Rays. He's gone 7-for-17 with six walks, five RBI and four runs scored during his streak.

Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Could return as soon as Thursday
Aranda (wrist) could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as Thursday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Aranda has been sidelined since late July with a fractured left wrist but hasn't given up hope on a late-season return. The 27-year-old has been playing in backfield games at the Rays' spring training complex in Florida and will join the major-league club Wednesday to take batting practice and field grounders. If that goes well, he should be active for the final few games of the regular season.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Mariners' Josh Naylor: Clutch double in win
Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.
Naylor came through in the clutch, ripping a bases-clearing double with two outs in the eighth inning to put the Mariners ahead and help secure a postseason berth. Since arriving from the Diamondbacks at the trade deadline, he's maintained his production, posting an .819 OPS in Seattle after logging an .807 mark in Arizona. For the season, the first baseman owns a .292/.351/.461 slash line with 28 doubles, 20 homers, 91 RBI and 28 stolen bases across 144 games.

Ty France 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Ty France: Lands on injured list
The Blue Jays placed France on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with left oblique inflammation.
France's injury will force him to miss the remainder of the regular season, though he will be eligible to return before the start of the ALDS. His move to the IL will clear a roster spot for Anthony Santander (shoulder), who was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Drives in two runs in win
Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a two-run double and a run scored during the Blue Jays' 8-5 win over the Royals on Sunday.
Guerrero entered Sunday's game having gone just 4-for-27 (.148) over his past seven outings. He was better at the plate in Sunday's series finale and gave the Blue Jays a three-run lead in the fifth with a two-run double before coming home to score on an Addison Barger RBI double. Since the All-Star break, Guerrero has a .953 OPS with one steal, 11 home runs and 37 RBI over 242 plate appearances.

Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Rangers' Jake Burger: Sharing work with Tellez
Burger is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
Burger and Rowdy Tellez have now split playing time at first base against right-handed pitching over the past four games, with both players garnering two starts apiece. Though Burger appeared to have settled in as the primary first baseman upon his return from the injured list Sept. 1, he's gone 0-for-13 with seven strikeouts over his last four contests and seems to have lost some job security in the process.
